Same thing for me, my wife already in Toronto, so we went to rcmp accredited finger print facility in scarborough to do hk police check and also rcmp check at same time. Got a bank draft from TD bank, and followed the instructions for overseas hk police check. I also sent using prority 5 day. Emailed hk police hq 3 weeks later to confirm received, and used that email and submitted proof to cic to show its in progress. I sent original to them. Hk police hq will also mail a receipt to you 4 weeks or so.

Also the email I got for passport request just gives me instruction on where to send it depending on my living situation, it does not explicitly say I have to send it to a single place.

How long u got ppr after submitted police cert?

Also for doing flagpole at US border, can I go together with my husband who is the applicant? As I am Canadian citizen, any impact doing flagpole for landing with my husband? Thx

My status changed to IP, I updated spread sheet today. I wrote to two MP in Vancouver and both of them told me that I need to goto MP at Federal level and give me the name of that MP which is in the conservative party. I have not yet write to that MP and my status changed to IP.
And when I click on the details, it showed an extra line which said that my application started processing in March of 2015.

Questions:

1. How long will take normally from IP to DM?

2. Regarding police and criminal report, I provided the last ten years of record and I am missing the police record for Singapore. When I go to the Canadian Immigration website it says that the CIC has to have first issue me a request then the Singapore CID will respond. Does that sound logical. I have the criminal record for 3 other countries already at time of application submittal. What are the experience of anyone else? Should I just wait until HKVO makes the request?

Police Cert was done end of July, then re did medical end of August. PPR was yesterday.

I've been reading to say its OK to do it, and it leaves no record. People also say its ok for the sponsor to be there when landing.

Your MP may change after the election, so no pointing writing a letter to them now. IP to DM is unpredictable because applicants who have applied in the last 6 months have been getting IP a lot faster. So the definition of IP may have changed. You should look at the Hong Kong spreadsheet and take an average from it. Typically its 9-11 months from what I can see.

I would wait for further information from HKVO because submitting a criminal record from Singapore.

Good news is notes indicate eligibility PASSED...

Hopefully, DM & PPR come next week. Otherwise, I will contact my MP after elections.

They just added another to my Status and stated they started processing my application on February 23, 2015! weird.

In fact, our application arrived HK on March 11, 2015...

one month till your interview date, I wish you good luck on the interview!

I have ip as well. It seems like all the march applicants get ip today. I think the processing time they have is the date your file transferred to hkvo. And I don't think ip means the same as before since everyone gets it easily( or maybe not easily but waiting forever for the next step )

If you take a look of the 2015 spreadsheet you will see many people got IP today, coincidence ? Yea I think the date is the day our file got to HKVO, but I thought only the applications after May apply the new IP and our (applicants before May ) cases still apply to the old one :/

Yap. We all hope the best for it. But the thing is interview comes together with IP now. Before it was almost working like a dm. No matter if it's the official old ip or new IP. We will just have to wait for them to deal with some of the November to February applicants first. Lol. But I am desperately thinking it's the old IP. Wish we all luck.
