We applied in Hong Kong as we are both living in HK right now. I WISH also there is an msn or email I could get help but I don't think that exists... however, this forum is really a great help so you can read other people's posts to get some ideas.wolanila said:I have not submitted my application yet we are just working on it. I am currently living with my wife in foshan guangdong. did you apply from china or in canada? Im wondering how straight forward my case will be if I am in china at the time it is being processed. thanks for all your help. can anyone give me an msn or an email that I could get help from while filling out the forms?
The Letter of Release should only apply to HK residents (which deals with HK tax department) so I dont' think you need to worry about that.wolanila said:what is a release letter? what did you show for proof of relationship. I have only been in a relationship with my wife for 5 months and we got married april 13 of this year. I dont have alot of phone records and I was using my mothers phone while I was in canada. we have wedding photos, and photos of when we went camping in hongkong, photos kissing (not sure if that is appropriate or not) I have a plane ticket to guangzhou. there is a busticket to hongkong with her but it doesnt say our names and its all inchinese. I am currently applying for a spouse visa in china. I really hope she can come to my brothers wedding in mexico also in febuary but that is another story. we have some msn message history but there is talk about visa and stuff in there so I dont know if I should include it. our relationship is genuine and we are very much in love. My mom talks to her alot on msn while she is at work and I have some friends who know we are married. also my whole family knows we are married. I was also wondering if I apply from in china do I put my chinese address or my canadian address on the application? I am currently visiting family here on a 1 year multiple entry visa for visiting family but can not legally work here. any information you have will help me tremendously
For such a short relationship, I think it is good for the application that you are planning to live with your wife in China. Show lots of proof that you are living together: any kind of financial document with both your names on it is good. For example: a joint lease, mortgage, or property deed; both names on any utility bills; a joint bank account or credit card; both of you named as the beneficiary on the other's insurance and will; envelopes and letters addressed to both of you, or either one of you at the the same address; a letter from the landlord stating that you are living together. You are maybe too young to have a lot of these things. Some, though, you can get. If you are living with her relatives, get an affidavit from them stating the two of you are living together with them as a couple, and that they believe your marriage is genuine.wolanila said:I have only been in a relationship with my wife for 5 months and we got married april 13 of this year.
If your mom's bills have your wife's number, use them as evidence, and get your mother to write a note stating you were the one making the calls to that number.I dont have alot of phone records and I was using my mothers phone while I was in canada.
Kissing is fine. Also get photos of the two of you with friends and relatives, to show that your marriage is well-known to the family and community.we have wedding photos, and photos of when we went camping in hongkong, photos kissing (not sure if that is appropriate or not)
Any travel evidence is good. Best if it has your names. If it is in Chinese, you would have to get it translated, and since it doesn't have your names anyway, maybe don't include it.I have a plane ticket to guangzhou. there is a busticket to hongkong with her but it doesnt say our names and its all inchinese.
I downloaded the application forms from the website in the section for applying Outside of Canada. Is that what you are using also?wolanila said:can you tell me more about how you applied in hongkong, did you need a different application, what kind of evidence did you provide that you were going to live in canada with your wife? You give me great hope. I wonder if your application was faster because you are hongkong resident, hongkong residents can visit canada with out a visa right? anyway I am very happy for you. sounds like everything is running smoothly for you. this is my email address if you would like to converse back and forth a little off the forum wolanila @ hotmail.com
if he needed a visa from before to visit canada - caips notes or some freedom of information request can be done to get records of his visit to canadapogobb said:The Letter of Release should only apply to HK residents (which deals with HK tax department) so I dont' think you need to worry about that.
For proof of relationship, I have a very different case than you because I've been married for nearly 10 years so I think the documents needed will be different (eg. I don't have any telephone records or email records from 10+ yrs ago when we were dating! And my husband even lost his old passport which showed his visits to Canada). Basically we included photos of us over these 10+ years. And we had our relatives and friends write email/letters about how they knew about our relationship and our son and it's a genuine marriage, etc. Some closer relatives had the letter notarized so I think that helps. Of course, our application has not been approved yet so I'm not sure if our supporting documents are enough or not. You can read other posts to see what other people use as supporting docs.
As for which address you should put, I'm not really sure, perhaps some experts here can answer that.
Good luck!
