Hi there,
I got my interview Oct 1,2018
but I haven't got home country passport. The agent sad "I request your passport. A few weeks later. It will come." Today, 15 days are over. Anybody, did you experience the same problem with me? and how many days later did you get your passport.

I have the same issue! I couldn't get my passport after landing interview. They said that they couldn't receive my passport yet so once they receive it, they will inform me. It has been nearly one month and I am still waiting but no news yet. If anyone has any experience please give information.

Out of curiosity, what’s the urgent need for your passport return? You certainly don’t want to use it to travel anywhere.

Urgency is not the point. I am just wondering the procedure. Everybody gets the passport during the landing interview and I couldn't ! This is my question and I am asking has anybody got this type of experience and if yes what happened next.

Same thing happened with me. They had to request it and after one month I got an email from the officer stating that my passport is available for pick up from the IRCC office.

DO NOT EVER USE IT OR TRAVEL BACK HOME.

Hi, I had my hearing in September 2017 and my immigration consultant told me she will apply for it to be returned but it’s been a year and she is not even saying anything. Please advise.

They won’t give you back your passport until you become a permanent resident of Canada.

The confusing part is that I don’t u fees tans whether he needs to be in the category that says “Occupation-based” or is he just supposed to fulfill the “PR/Citizen, known you personally for over 6mths, etc” criteria!?

I’m not sure about that tbh, but you can tell them that it was seized & show them the letter. That should be enough.
