Hello Friends,

I am going to apply for Canadian PR under PNP however, I am worried about my medical part as I am HIV positive since 2016. My CD4 count is increasing and virus is not detectable. I would like to know if I apply for CA I would get Cleaneres in my medical. I have read so many threads about it which says even with this health condition people have got the PR. So please advise on this and what extra would happen apart from the regular steps in the medical process.

Thank you.
If your VL is Undetectable and CD4 Count is good with no other health complications your medicals will clear. Go ahead and apply. Good Luck

My husband has been diagnosed with HIV since 2012 (he's undetectable under medication Genvoya). We are applying under PNP in Manitoba. This is our timeline. Unfortunately the medical exam it's taking very long for approval and since that, there isn't update;

AR: June 24, 2019
AOR: July 26, 2019
ADR: Dec 16, 2019 - (Police Clearance Certificate)
MR: Oct 21, 2020
Medical Exam sent by the doctor: Nov 12, 2020
Additional exam required: Nov 20, 2020 ( Hepatitis B/ C tests + IGRA test for Tuberculosis)
Additional exam sent: Dec 01, 2020

IGRA (Tuberculosis) test takes 2 to 3 weeks to get the results, so keep in mind all that time.
6 months and 15 days - NO UPDATES

We passed our MEDICALS......... We are inland(all family members). Two members of my family are HIV positive and we concluded all the medicals in Feb 2020. IRCC applied Excessive Demand Public Policy and our medical was passed today August 12, 2021. About 18 months long silence------ waiting. We are very happy to see our medical passed. We are expecting the PR anytime from now..... HIV+ people should not lose hope.

Hi Dear, I am from Philippines and currently hired as Food Service Supervisor. I already submit all my needed requirements to mu agency and already signed a contract. My only remaining lacking requirements is my upfront medical examination. I am HIV positive since May of 2019 and I am using the ARV combination of Lamivudine/zidovudine and Efavirenz. Base on my last medical test from my Health care provider my viral load is less than 42copies meaning it is undetectable for the past year. I also done medical exam for TB, Hep and Syphilis and all are in normal result. I recieved also vaccination for pneumococal and flu vaccine. For the application for my upfront medical do I need to disclose my HIV status? How many percentage that I will pass my medical examination. Thank you in advance hoping you can help me to answer my inquiry. Keep safe everyone.

Greetings to all,

We have been requested re medical since our medical has been expired last year. What advice will you give us to speed up the process? Should we take medical report, notify them about the status and ask them to do further investigations (like Hepatitis and TB) without waiting for IRCC request.

I will appreciate your advice.

hello,

What visa did you apply? I currently applying for express entry visa and I am confused regarding my HIV status. I am waiting for my upfront medical schedule and I am worried if they will refused my application if my medical exam fall into HIV positive result. I am taking medicine for my HIV and I am undetectable for almost 2 years.

My application is through Provincial nominee program. Our medical have passed before despite my spouse HIV positive result. Now it is expired and we are asked for re medical. I think you will be fine if there are no health complications and your medication is below the maximum threshold of annual health care cost.

Greetings,
I am in the process of getting job offer in Manitoba (NOC level C) and then thinking to work for 6 months and applied for Manitoba PNP.
As been and HIV and Hepatitis B carrier, I am worried about the denial of my work permit. My both viral load for HIV and Hep B is undetectable and I been on meds for last 10 years, currently i am taking Lamivudine (300mg) + Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (300mg) + Efavirenz (600mg).

Few things like to understand before I applied for closed work permit.
1. The medication I am taking is Trioday in India however in Canada the brand name of the drug is Symfi. Does anyone know the price of the medication and will it exceed the threshold. (During my work permit tenure I can bring my own meds )
2. What are the thing which I need to be cautious while submitting document for work permit. During medical checkup should I submit all my test report like HIV / Hep Viral load and CD4, Syphilis , Tuberculosis instead of waiting them to ask for further test report and not to delay the process.
3. I have temporary visiting visa in Canada, will it better if I applied work permit in Canada or home country (India).

Appreciate for any reply.

FIRST MEDICAL - 18th April
AOR-22 April
ADDITIONAL MEDICAL - Got request for IGRA(Gold TB Test) and HIV Specialist Report on 29th April. My advice - Do not wait up to receive mail from CIC regarding this. Proactively follow up with your clinic. It will pop up on their systems within 2 weeks. Included my Hep B, Hep C, CD4 count, and viral load tests as part of the specialist's report. That was all on the medical side. I am happy to share the format of my specialist report for the benefit of the community if anyone is interested.

Dead silence for 6 months. No updates on medical either.

Got an email last night to submit passports. Checked CIC website - it showed everything as passed.
Hey,

Can you please share the fornat of your specialist report..would be very beneficial..thanks in advance

Hi , how did your case eventually end up? Did you get the PR? I’m hiv positive and just recently arrived on a work permit. Kindly advise on what next to do and how to access my meds.

Depends on what province you live in. Are you working full-time and will your employer give you a letter indicating your will be employed for at least 6 months?
