Highest Degree is enough?

Hi,
I have 3 degrees (bachelor, master and PhD). Since I am currently living in US , obtaining the official transcripts for my Bachelor and Master degrees (to send to WES) is a little bit of hassle. However, my PhD is from US and it should be easy to send the transcripts to WES. Now I am wondering, if I actually need to send Master/Bachelor transcripts/degree for assessment or sending the highest degree/transcript (PhD in this case) is sufficient?
more precisely:
1- By only sending my PhD credentials, will I obtain full Human capital?

2- In skill transferability section it states: " ..to get 50 points I must have Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer.", Does this mean I need to send at least two of my degrees or automatically when I send PhD it means I already have at least two post-secondary degrees? So basically if I only send PhD credentials will I receive 25 or 50 points (given I got other requirements)?

Since my common in law has a Master Degree, does she also need to send her Bachelor degree for assessment or is it enough do send only her master degree.

If you are pre-ITA then you should get ECA for all your degrees.
I have a Bachelor and a Masters and sent in both. You will get points for all your degrees.

I am sorry, but the above is wrong info and for some reason repeated all the time here on forums without realizing that this rule depends on the country you studied.

CIC has clearly mentioned in the guides that you need to send only your highest degree. And you you will get points for only your highest degree. If you do a WES equivalency and if your masters will get you a Canadian masters equivalency, then that's all that is needed.

However, if you are not sure if your masters will get an ECA equivalency for masters, (Asian countries for Example), then you can send your undergraduate degree too so that you can claim points for 2 qualifications. Please note that 2 or more will fetch you less points than a single masters.

So based on your response (I also checked CIC website and concur with your interpretation) my PhD is enough. Just one question: What about post ITA? Is it possible that later on officer want my other degrees (though it seems to contradict what I read in CIC which clearly says your highest degree).

Your highest degree needs to be assessed... for WES, this is to get yourself into EE

post ITA however you need to send scanned copies of all your degrees, bachelors, masters, PhD along with marks sheet, WES report and IELTS combined as a single file....

It all depends on WES or IQAS. Please check on their site for the equivalency. I also suggest you check the IQAS guides. IQAS has a clear country based guideline on possible outcomes of your PHD.

If WES/IQAS are ready to give you PHD equivalency, you dont need anything else. And CIC wont ask for anything else as well since the responsibility of verifying all is with WES/IQAS. As official ECA providers, if they have given you an OK, CIC wont investigate any further.

so for Post ITA do I need to assess the Master and Bachelor or only send the translated versions (which I already have). So basically for post ITA I send my PHD, Master, Bachelor degree and trans + WES report for PHD (but no WES report for the others) , does it work?

Can you please send us a link where it says that the NON ECA degrees need to be shown? If there is no ECA, the only reason you want to add all that mammoth paper work is tire your Case advisor!

You need to send your Highest Degree + ECA + IELTS.

You dont even need to send your marks sheets!

clearly you are not aware of what happens AFTER the process starts...

documents compulsory are as per ITA docs checklist. but some documents mentioned below ARE required to be sent, you can send it later when they ask for it - or send it upfront... persoanlly i will send it upfront - dont want to play table tennis with them asking questions and me giving answers....

PNP nomination certificate (if you have applied successfully for PNP)
Schedule A form
Marks sheet is not compulsory, but if you have consolidated marks memo, its a single document better to add it.

also just knew that scans of all degrees are necessary
A quick question: if the diploma is bilingual, and one of the languages is English can i upload scan of this Diploma directly to the system or should i do the notarized copy (not a notarized translation) and then upload both the original and copy with notary stamp...
ur thoughts on this will be much appeciated

You just repeated what I said.

IELTS + WES + Highest Degree.

The topic is about educational qualification place holder. Not about marriage certificates, Passport copies, PNP, Schedule, A etc etc. You also just reconfirmed what I just said that marks cards are not compulsory.

Have they CLEARLY mentioned that they need ALL DEGREES even without ECA? Any degree without ECA is of no use to them. You probably are sending your undergrand and post grand since you did an ECA for both. Any degree WITHOUT ECA is pointless as far as CIC is concerned.

My sincere advice to everyone is to please read from SOURCE first. Read the CIC website end to end. While there is amazing advice here, some of it can be anecdotal. Please read the guides yourself and then double check here.

People are notorious for sending unnecessary paper work here all based on "because I heard so".

Read the guides. They are all self explanatory. If everyone just sent what is necessary and not give a ton of paper work, processing times could be reduced for sure. They promised 6 months and now they sometimes takes 8 months since they have to go through Mr XYZ's Kindergarten drawing skill certificates because he felt it could in some way strengthen his case! ;D
