they might want proof of ties to your country especially if you are visiting someone that you are in a relationship with. I don't really know what more you would want to know unless youre planning on marrying and applying for PR?

No, actually there is probably less chance. If CIC feels you are going to Canada to be with your boyfriend they may think you will not leave after the TRV expires.

You need to prove you have funds to support yourself, and that you have ties to the Philppines so you will return. So need to include things like:
- showing you have an existing lease/rental agreement
- existing employment or school enrollment
- investments/assets in Philippines
- any other commitments to Philippines
- showing travel history to other countries and that you didn't overstay
- etc etc

Without any of those, it will be very hard to get TRV approved.

You don't have many options. Basically a TRV visitor visa, or you can try to enroll in some Canadian school course and try to get a student visa.

There are no easiest visa to apply for. The requirement to prove that you will leave Canada remains the same for visitor visa, work visa and study visa.

They will deny your visa if they think you are coming to canada to live permanently with your boyfriend.

One thing that may help with approval is to enroll in english classes for 6 months. You don't need a studyvisa to study english for 6 months, just a visitor visa. Then you can put your main reason for coming to canada is to study english. And a secondary reason is vacation and visit your friend. This is a very common reason for people to apply for visitor visas.

Try to play down the seriousness of the relationship, and if they ask you if you plan to get married, just say you will "see how things go".

This is one reason why you should push for same sex marriage in the Philippines. If you were a girl he can marry you and sponsor you, I don't understand why the law should not be fair to all with no discrimination towards race, gender and sexual orientation.

Its easy and common. There are literally dozens of english language schools that cater to visitors. They have english programs as short as a month, so students can study for as long as they want while on vacation in Canada. Here is a partial list http://www.globalstudy.com/esl/ca/map/

I taught at English Bay College, and my wife attended Global Village, both are in Vancouver.

Some of them are a bit expensive, but if you look around you can probably find something that is affordable, especially if you just do 3-6 months.
