Hi to everybody. I'm March 20th 2016 AOR, RPRF requested on the 16th of August 2016, RPRF paid on the 22nd of August. I will be out of country of residence from 15th of september to 14th of november. Will I have problems with my PPR request? Is there a way that I can make sure they will send PPR after I come back? Thanks a lot

As per I've seen around the forum, when you get your golden email, you will have 30 days to send your passport to your local VO.

But I believe you can write them if you can't comply with the dates. In your case, if I were you, I would start taking a deep look into this, as I believe your PPR is about to happen (during September).

Regards

So which kind of action should I take? Anyone having experience on this? Thx

I really need some help..

Can't you postpone your trip?

In my Opinion, you have three options:
1 - Postpone your trip.
2 - Go to your trip, of you are requested the documents, come back earlier to forward your Passport to your local VO.
3 - Go to your trip, if you have your passport requested, try to send them a LoE, or raise a CSE to explain why you can't make the deadline.

Or hope for major delays in your process, so your PPR comes right after your trip =)

Regards.

Unfortunately it's an already planned business trip..How can I send a LoE?

This is what the PPR e-mail says:

"If you do not have a mailing address in Canada or the U.S.A, or if you are unable to submit the required documentation for you or your accompanying family members to the addresses below, please send an email to us at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca so that we can send you instructions for submitting your documents to a visa office which is the most convenient for you. Please note that our office will not return passports to an address outside North America."

If you get PPR while you are away, you can make arrangements to submit the passport to the nearest visa office.

^ Yes, this, but OP should also allow himself 4 weeks in the other country to anticipate the passport and COPR return.
If the PPR mail arrives after 15 October, OP can request Ottawa for an extension to submit it when he returns to Canada.

Thx muxican. I thought the visa office had to be the one where you have your residence. From the email you posted I understand that they instead don't really care about which visa office the applicants wants them to use. That's a very good news, it seems like they're flexible on that. Or maybe am I oversighting something?

The visa office of your country of residence is usually what processes/checks/approves your application. (Although there are a few rare cases where applications are processed by VOs outside the applicant's countries of residence and origin due to workload distribution.)

Once they complete that approval, the visa/COPR can technically be issued by any VO, but you have to request your local VO if you plan to send it to a different VO other than CPC-Ottawa.

Thx. Can I achieve that by simply replying to the email address specified in the extract of the ppr email posted above, once they send me ppr? Or do I need to contact the local vo? If so, how can I contact it?

Instructions to contact should be in the PPR letter when you receive it.

I have a similar query. I'll be making my PR application from outside North America. I may have to travel to another country (for 4-6 months) after my PR application.

Would I need to update my address/residence to this other country whilst my application is pending- so that in case there is an interview requirement, or if approval comes early- I can get it done in that country itself?

Or would I wait and see, and only if I receive any requirement for interview/approval comes whilst I still need to be travelling- I request a change in my visa office?

I would suggest updating as you move.

You can request visa office to be changed.

Even though it would only be a temporary move to another country on a visit visa? How is such a request made- through EE?
