Help with IMM 5710

Is the restoration of legal status ( staying in Canada for more than 6 months but less than 9 months ) form IMM 5710 is the one I should fill and send to restore my legal status in Canada ?
Since in question no 3 - there are 4 options, one is Restoration of your status as a worker, but I am on a visitors visa

What is IMM5407?

Do you mean IMM5476 (Use of a Representative)?

No, you only need 5708 to apply for ROS (and pay the $200 fee).


Just follow the instruction guide.

I was googling IMM 5708 and it took me to immigration direct.ca and there it says forms you might have to file have to fill IMM 5409 so it confused me !

This application guide is for temporary residents who are already in Canada and wish to:

I thought of selecting visitor. Do I need to select others ?? I have a valid temporary visitors visa up to 2017, its just that I have stayed more than 6 months . Please clear my doubts. I would really appreciate.

I mean since I have a valid temporary visitor visa till 2017, I don't have a legal status in Canada since I m in Canada for more than 6 months.so I am applying for restoration of legal status ( staying in Canada for over 6 months )

You are now out of status, right? The only way for you to get status is to either leave Canada and attempt re-entry, or apply for Restoration of Status and hope that it is approved. If you apply for ROS, you have to disclose that you are out of status...which is why you need the ROS in the first place.
