Help with EE profile

I am an assistant professor at a Canadian university (for 4 years now), currently on work permit (with a positive labor market opinion (now called LMIA)). Took CELPIP last week with score 10/10/9/9. Had a undergrad degree from a Canadian university and a Ph.D. from a U.S. school. I am 34 now, and applying with NOC 4011.

I submitted my EE profile, and it was deemed ineligible. Tried several times correcting errors here and there, still deemed ineligible. Not sure what went wrong. Any advice?

Some issues that might be causing this:
1) when entering the CELPIP score, I could not locate the test form or certificate number. I entered the registration code instead. Not sure if that matters.
2) My Ph.D. degree has not be assessed. But I have a Canadian undergrad degree, thought that would be sufficient.
3) When I was offered the job, I have a positive labor market opinion (LMO). Not sure if it is the same as LMIA.
4) My wife has not taken the language test, but I thought it is only mandatory for principle applicant.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

the test form number is different than the registration number...! I wrote IELTS and I am not familiar with the CELPIP result sheet!
You will have to evaluate any degree you received outside Canada.
call CIC customer care centre and confirm about the LMO to LMIA thingy!

From memory its the 'Registration Code separated by three spaces and then your PIN number.
2) My Ph.D. degree has not be assessed. But I have a Canadian undergrad degree, thought that would be sufficient.
You get points for highest Education. In your case PHD - (CRS points: 150). Recommend you get assessed ASAP.
3) When I was offered the job, I have a positive labor market opinion (LMO). Not sure if it is the same as LMIA.
Exactly the same. Enter the LMIA reference code.
4) My wife has not taken the language test, but I thought it is only mandatory for principle applicant.
Incorrect, in cases of co-applicants it is required by primary and secondary applicants. Recommend you get her to take the test as well.

Note; as you have an LMIA job you will automatically get 600 CRS points.

Any help please PM me or ask on this thread.

Thanks

What if I simply don't enter the Ph.D. degree from the U.S.? It does not seem to cost me a lot of points according to the document.

The ineligible thing seems to be generated from an automated process. Not sure what went wrong. I think it would be more useful if CIC could provide feedback on which part of your profile is falling short.

Yes. As far as I know both the principal and secondary applicants need to take the Language Tests.

Could you direct me to the document specifying this?

OP here with an update.

After the 5th try, I finally make it through the initial screening, and the system shows a score of 1028 (my Ph.D degree is not assessed yet). Not sure what this score means in relative terms? Does anyone have an idea?

Two things:
1) spouse test score is not mandatory (at least in my case)
2) having a LMIA job is a huge boost to points

Thanks to everyone for the information.

I don't think CIC will give so much time to your profile right now! getting PhD evaluated will add points but if you think otherwise then it's fine too

That is a very high score and you will receive an invitation to apply (ITA). However, it means that you were given the 600-point bonus for having a "valid job offer". A valid job offer requires two things: an LMO/LMIA, and a written offer of permanent, full-time employment if you obtain PR status. If you don't have the written offer of permanent, full-time employment upon becoming a PR, you will lose the 600 points, and your application will be refused.

Two things:
1) spouse test score is not mandatory (at least in my case)
2) having a LMIA job is a huge boost to points

If you have the written offer of permanent employment, you don't need to do these extra steps. But without the extra 600 points, your score would be 428. So far, this is too low to receive an ITA (most ITA cut off scores have been above 450).

So if you get the PhD assessed (+38 points), and/or if your wife takes the language exam (up to 20 points), your score would be in range of an ITA.

What should you write? "The truth" is my usual response : )

If you want to qualify under FSW and or FST, you will need to prove that you have the funds according to these guidelines:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

However, if you believe you qualify under the CEC class, you do not need to demonstrate these funds. (Moreover, if you include the funds, you could get an ITA for FSW instead of CEC class...)

under the work history section CIC intends you to mention all the places you've worked globally in last ten years or since you were 18! so you can add work exp from outside Canada under work history
