I told my wife what you do and she said that Ontario has a lot of casinos (OLG: Ontario Casinos and Gambling), and she thinks it is government run, so the wages are quite good (+ benefits).

I worked for the casinos for more than 11 years. I am in the software industry for the past 5 years but still dealing with casinos as our product is casino industry specific!
I don't want to work for casinos again. There is no life and I am not getting any younger! I am planning to stay in Ontario for few months just because my friends and relatives are there and will provide the much needed accommodation for the beginning. After that it would be either Calgary or Vancouver

Our plan is to move to Ontario and stay with my in-laws for few months until we can move out. My plan is to go back to school and do a update in my field (Network Security), in the meantime my wife will start working with her former employer (Scotia Bank).

My wife is Canadian by birth, and her parents are Cretan, father from Chania and mother from Rethymnon.

Crete is full of traditions, nice people and super yummy food (Fish and lamb). The Cretan dance is beautiful and characterized all martial dances of antiquity.

With regards to the music, Crete has the Lyra and the Laouto, the most important instruments on the island.

Hey you are speaking to a Greek. And as all Greeks we love our KPHTH and anything that goes with it! In 2006 I spend 600 euros to buy a Lyra from a Heraclion store.

got medicals jan 2013
since than i got no news from them. i'am afraid my medicals will soon expire.
i wrote to them but rome told me my file is in a queue for a review, i'am so confused.

Dear NGOIN.

I was wondering why it has taken so long to process your application, since Rome VO is handing out PPR to applicants from late last-year/early
this-year.

I suggest you to contact Rome VO and ask them about your case.

Please i really want to understand whether rome has been working since after the strike in any category.
Any Idea?
I'am just confused and blocked.
Has any one got visa recently from Rome?
Secondly do they extend medicals if it expires or i have to redo a second medicals?

Your husband has an interview tomorrow means nothing bad. Just tell him to go there with positive attitude. And most importantly be truthful and to not hide anything from them
Usually after the interview things run very fast and it is known if the interview went ok to have your visa in a very short time.
From your timeline I see that you have applied in July.
You are saying that that you will keep bugging them. Why? Dont do that! Its been only 4 months 4u and you already going through an interview which is one step closer to the end of your process.

Rome has advertised processing times of 13 months..Keep this in mind! But they are processing apps from applicants in less than 8 months.
So do your self and them a favor and do not "keep on bugging them" although I know your were referring to the previous poster

After the interview, your husband should be close to the end, as in the next step after this should be his Passport request for the visa. The end is near..!!

Hi NGOIN.

My only advise is for you to stay calm and be patient.

If your medical "expire" you might have to redo it or the Immigration officer might ask for an extension on your medical, but you have to wait for Rome VO to request for it.

Hi.

The interview from what I've heard is not an easy process psychologically but keep in mind the the interviewer's main objective is to clear out any foggy areas of the applicants info and pass him/her.
Tell him to go with in with a clear mind so that means to have a good night's sleep tonight. I have a good feeling everything will be ok for u2 tomorrow

BTW. After almost a year of silence Vienna today emailed a January 2013 applicant to go for an interview on Dec 10th. This is only a call for interview but for us Vienna applicants means a lot as this is the first contact Vienna made to anyone in this forum this year.
