If I will be re-applying for SP, since I got rejected at my first try, do I still have to submit the same set of documents (checklist) even though CHC already has it? And should I input my UCI number on my application form as well?

Another one:
The pof documents I will include in my application for a study permit are as follows:

1) Both my parents' combined funds in my mom's bank statement
2) Loan certificate (is this fine or allowed?)
3) 6 months Bank statement of my uncle who is residing in Canada with his family (PR)

Do you think these documents will suffice?

PS: I from UAE so SPP is not applicable. I am turning 18 within the month and will include as well custodianship declaration forms.

Your help will be appreciated

Hello,

You should re-submit all documents afresh and indicate your UCI on the application forms. New documents (if any) should address the reasons for the refusal. I think it would have been better, if you had first applied under the SPP. Wish you all the best!

Okay, got it. Thanks! But is loan certificate & its liquified money enough additional documents for proof of funds? I did not submit this during my first application, so I'm planning to do so on my second submission. UAE applicants are not applicable for SPP though, only for General SP application.

Hi,

Don't show them that you took a loan , otherwise they might rug use it . Because it means that your parents are not able to support you in canada

Anyway, k.m.elzeiny1995 is right that you shouldn't show them that you took a loan. But in most cases VO would like to see the source of your fund. So if your sponsors/parents are working and the loan serves as a supplement then it's fine not to indicate it. But if you're entirely relying on the loan, then you'll need to let them know. If you deposit the loan in your account, your current employment must justify that or your parents monthly salaries could suffice in cutting the edge of this challenge.

So Rcpp, could you state here the main reasons you were refused? This would help people in this forum to give your proper advise.

Thank you both!

Because I'm afraid that the VO might question the huge amount of money to be put in the account and I thought including a loan certificate would be enough to justify where some of the money came from. Nope, we will not entirely rely on it. We have a separate account where some money are kept for the application.

Basically, the purpose of the loan is to serve as an addition to whatever amount is lacking to meet/atleast exceed the minimum.

Do my parents have to explain this yet on the letter of support to be submitted? And do I still have to include an affidavit of support signed by both of my parents?

The reason of my refusal was because of funds, that's it. That's why I'm trying to figure out how to fix this up with the VO and thank you guys for helping in clearing out my doubts :) My parents deposited huge amount of money on my mom's account from time to time, and the only sponsor we stated on the support letter was my mom though my dad's salary certificate was included in the documents.

I understand now. Sometimes, having a huge amount in one's account won't make any difference, but the source of those funds is what matters. If you had applied under the SPP in India, then you only need to buy GIS and that's all. Your parents' documents should include, in addition to the bank statements, their pay slips. If the amount can't suffice, then it makes sense to include the loan certificate. Here, your parents should write a letter to the visa office stating why they're so concern about your studies to the extent of securing a loan just for your education. Just be truthful in your visa applications always. If they still deny you, then you should consider applying to a university/college with scholarship to cover at least tuition fees. All the best!

Hi ,

I would like to ask you how much did you put in your account ? I mean how much is the loan ? Also how much does your parents gain each month . If you can show the money for 4 month or more the it's fine . If it's less than 4 month , you have to show them the source of the money.

In my case, I got funding from the university. But it all depends on your tuition and living expenses.

Thanks for the advice! This is really helpful :D I was planning to apply for a scholarship, but I didn't make it to the deadline. And in the application form for student awards, it was requiring a SIN, which I don't have (yet).

I guess 30% of the funds are sourced from the loan. So this time we have a higher amount of money in the bank. How do we show the source of money though? Which documents are we supposed to submit for proof of where some of the money came from, aside from pay slips, salary certificates and loan certificate?

In addition to pay slips, salary certificates and loan certificate, owned-company certificates, property documents which generate income, certificate of ownership in projects which generate income and other investment certificates. The list goes on .......
