Help!! Visitor visa extension online.. Form 5708?

I need some help here.. am trying to apply for an extension of my visitor visa, the form that was "given" on the CIC website was IMM5708E "Application to change conditions, extend my stay or remain in canada as a visitor or temporary resident permit holder".

However I'm confused because the options given on the form for 'I am applying for one or more of the following" was given as below:
1. Extension of my temporary resident status
2. Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit
3. Restoration of temporary resident status as a visitor

I'm from Singapore so i'm visa-exempted, and my stay here expires 18th June.

Which option should I choose? My reason to extend visa is that Im here visiting my boyfriend who's Canadian, and we would to apply for common-law visa after fulfilling the requirements of living together for a year, hence the extension..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much PMM! This was a no-brainer I guess..

I also have one other question regarding funds available - here's my situation:

I received a job offer to work in Tokyo when I was back home (Singapore) in October 2011, and went there on a work visa from 2011 Oct to 2012 November. It was in Tokyo where I met my boyfriend (who's there on a working holiday visa, but he's back in Vancouver for good now). We both thought it would be good to live together because we both cant stand long distance, so I came over in December 2012 (not before returning home from Tokyo for two months). As I am still working for my employer (same company as in Tokyo, but my boss has since moved the business to Singapore), to be honest I dont have much savings but I do have a 'flow of income' monthly based on the freelance work I do for her.

For funds available, should I say that my boyfriend is sponsoring my expenses - and if so - should the proof of funds be what he has in the bank now...? :/

Hi, i was wondering what happened with your application, im in the same situation and im trying to find out what is the valid reason i should put in my application to extend my stay, since i need other 6 months to apply for common law. Did you did this application? What did you put on reason to apply?
