Honestly, nobody can say what the next step is. Depends from case to case. If they are not satisfied with your application and have doubts about the marriage, they might call you for an interview. Or send a request for additional documents. Or send the PPR. No one can answer that for sure without knowing your case, neither can one say how much time its going to take.
People have gotten their visas while ecas showed 'in process'. Ecas is not reliable most of the times. If its an open-and-shut case, PPR is sent within 2-4 months, most likely you should get it soon. Then again, depends on the VO handling your case. But yes, you can order CAIPs notes if you feel its taking longer than usual. And also involve your MP once your 6 months are up. So I come back to my original answer. For now, waiting seems like a good idea
