HELP - Spouse Open Work Permit

Hi Friends,

I am in Canada on work permit.

My wife works in India and she has applied visitor visa for 3 months initially.

Should I apply 'Online-SOWP-Spouse Open Work Permit' from India ?

or

Is it better to apply 'Online-SOWP' after my wife arrived in Canada on visitor visa for 3 months ?77


Any suggestions surely would be appreciated

apply when your wife comes here , dont apply from india.

and then submit the SOWP-Spouse Open Work permit online/VFS in India ?

To save the processing time. Is it a correct way ?

Please can anyone suggest me.

When you wife is in Canada. You can visit the closest border and request for her Work permit. The documents required would be the same.

Yes, you can get the Medicals upfront as they are valid for 1 year. However, it is suggested to get them done just before applying online or visiting the border for work permit.

Dear Friends,

I am applying SOWP-Spouse Open Work Permit online in Canada.

Please correct me if I am wrong:

(1) if applying in Canada----Indian Applicant must submit PCC-Police Clearance Certificate

(2) if applying in India----Indian Applicant do not need to submit PCC-Police Clearance Certificate

Does anyone know about it ?

I applied on 18th march at vfs New Delhi. No updates yet for me as well. Did anyone get any updates who applied through vfs India. Please let me know.
