I am currently living with my husband in Israel for 4 years (Canadian citizen through birth) and have done minimal consulting work in Canada long-distance - money is paid into my canadian bank account.
I have a question regarding providing the original "Option C Printout" - I read on a website that if I am sponsoring my spouse and he/we have no dependant children then we do not need to demonstrate a minimum income. Then why do I need to provide the Option C Printout????:
If you are sponsoring:
Your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has no dependent children, or
Your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner whose dependent children have no children of their own, or
Your dependent child who has no children of his or her own,
then you do not need to demonstrate a minimum income.
In other cases, you will have to prove you have an income that is at least equal to the minimum necessary income - this is called the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO). Each year, the Canadian government decides what this amount is and publishes the information. You will have to provide Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) with documents that show your financial resources for the past 12 months and prove you are financially able to sponsor members of the family class. You may get the help of a co-signer (must be your spouse or common-law partner).
Low Income Cut-off (LICO) Effective January 1 - December 31, 2009
Size of Family UnitMinimum necessary income
1 person (the sponsor)$21, 666
2 persons$26, 972
3 persons$33, 159
4 persons $40, 259
5 persons$45, 662
6 persons$51, 498
7 persons$57, 336
More than 7 persons, for each additional person, add:$5, 838
Help? On the supporting document form, it says it you are not providing the printout, provide an explanation on a separate sheet of paper. I am only sponsoring my spouse - we have no children and no other family members.
Thanks for any advice.
