Hi,
1) I would like to know about Proof of funds(POF).The letters of all the investments i have made ..should the value in it be shown in canadian dollars or INR ?
Because banks may give me a letter in INR so i may have to specify them to convert them to Canadian dollars and then type it in the letters ?

2) If I am travelling alone without my spouse i.e 1 person then the POF should be of $11,115 CAD else ,if I am traveling with my spouse then the POF should be of $13,837 CAD,Right ? So, in the first case i.e when I am traveling alone can I show the investments or bank statements owned by my wife alone ?

There is no harm in showing both figures, ie, INR and CAD. The Immigration Officer will not bother to sit and do the currency conversion calculation for you from INR to CAD. It is in your best interest that you show it in CAD.

2) If I am travelling alone without my spouse i.e 1 person then the POF should be of $11,115 CAD else ,if I am traveling with my spouse then the POF should be of $13,837 CAD,Right ? Your POF requirement will remain the same if only one person is travelling at a time or not, ie, CAD $ 13,837 (For primary applicant and one dependent). This money should be in any form which you are able to en-cash when you are in need. So, in the first case i.e when I am traveling alone can I show the investments or bank statements owned by my wife alone ? Since your wife has also been awarded a PR and is accompanying you sooner or later, it should be fine. Please file your application first before you start planning for your landing! POF is to ensure that when you arrive in Canada, you should be able to support yourself for the first few months if by any chance you don't find any job. So, this money might have to be put to use at least for the first month you are there. Anyway, you have time till May 4th, 2013 to prepare your applications.

ASK did answer to you in the last message on the first page.

SSC - Senior / Secondary School Certificate
FYJC - First Year Junior College
SYJC - Second Year Junior College

I have following doubts regarding the FSW 2013 application forms:

a. In the Schedule 3 Economic classes - Federal Skilled workers form

Ques no. 12 Your Work Experience - What to write in Occupation column? If I mention category for eg. Computer Programmer and Interactive multimedia developer, than the space is very less to accommodate the characters.

b. Do we need to submit forms that are not related to us? for eg.

•Separation Declaration for Minors Travelling to Canada (IMM 5604)
•Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409)
•Use of a Representative (IMM 5476)

c. In Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) form and Schedule A: Background / Declaration (IMM 5669), both PA and spouse need to fill up the form. Do we need to create copy of the same form and fill it separately?

d. Unable to fill information electronically in Supplementary Information – Your travels (IMM 5562) form. Do we need to take print of the same and fill it by hand?

e. Do we need to submit original Work experience letters with our application?

f. Do I need to submit my wife Work Exp. certificate copies with the application. It is not mentioned in the Doc Checklist, but in the Bgrd. Decl. form, she has to fill her employment details. To support the same, should I submit her doc or not.


Please advise.

Here you should write your designation (as per your work experience letter)

NO, you just need to send form which are related

You can fill soft copy and print and then another copy filled with your spouse's details and print

Yes this form needs to be filled after printing, but it will be better to type it than to fill manually.

e. Do we need to submit original Work experience letters with our application?
CIC need work experience in specific format, mentioning your duties, salary, designation (all designations should be listed along with timelines, if got promoted in same organisation), so this kind of work experience letter you have to take from all your previous companies and send original to CIC (the other original which was issued to you by your previous companies will remain with you)

f. Do I need to submit my wife Work Exp. certificate copies with the application. It is not mentioned in the Doc Checklist, but in the Bgrd. Decl. form, she has to fill her employment details. To support the same, should I submit her doc or not.

Yes, its better to send her work exp letter copies (notary attested ) and educational certificates etc

Another query, in the Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] form, CIC guidelines says that after filling the form follow the following steps:

a.Click on the “Validate” button at the top or bottom of the form.
b.A last page with barcodes and a signature line will automatically be created.
c.Print, sign and date the form.
◦Print on white, bond-quality and non-glossy paper
◦Use of a laser printer is recommended
d.Place the barcode page on the top of each individual package.

I am unclear about this step "d.Place the barcode page on the top of each individual package.".

What do they mean by the term PACKAGE? Does it mean that we need to take print of the barcode page and put it on top of each application form? Please advise.

Hi Pavboss,

I checked the following link which has been modified on 29 April 2013.

According to the above link you have to place the Validation page (with the barcodes) on top of your application package.

" Place the barcode pages on the top of your application (forms and supporting documents) when you will submit it." You may put the Checklist just under the Barcode page.

You must also submit the last page that has all the unique barcodes along with the application.

a Assest I wrote 34,000$(14,000$ cash form as per bank statment and 20,000$ property valuation )
b Liabilities 0
c Total funds avaible ---> I menioned just the cash one as 14,000 since 20,000$ can be available wen I will sell the property.

Am I correct providing this detail please update ASAP,Thanks.

In a cover letter you can mention why you have not included the valuation of your property.

Another question: a) Do we need to submit all the photocopy pages of our passport to CIC (including cover pages, ECNR and blank pages)? b) My father expired last year, do I need to fill his details in the additional family form - Father column. If yes, what to write? Late<father name>. Please advise.
