Hi ASK,

As always thanks for the help.
I am still in process of filling out the forms.Need to be absolutely sure that I have filled everything properly. :-[
Also,I still had to complete my IELTS exam.
I thought because they are not accepting any FSW applications so i would submit it later when CIC declares that they have started receiving applications .(What do you suggest should I still go ahead and submit my application ?)

I was going through the Guide 7000 and they say that :
Dependent(s)
Important
You must list all family members in your application for permanent residence, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not.

1) So now, even if my parents are not accompanying me still do i have to add them here in dependents section ?
But then there is no option for Father or Mother in the no (10) question which asks for Relationship with principal applicant.
So,do I select Other here and mention in the next box(i.e 10 b) Other: ) as Father or Mother.
Then again ,in question (12) Dependent Type : there is Type A,Type B,Type C dependent. So do i leave this blank ?

2) Now in the next form which is IMM0008DEPENU i need to copy the same info which i have mentioned in the IMM0008ENU_2D for my Spouse,Father and Mother and have different forms for each one of them. But again for Father and Mother I would face the same problem as in point 1.

Hey ASK can you help me out here.
Thanks,

Hey ASK can you help me out here.
Thanks,
1) Your dependents according to CIC are your spouse and your children (if any). Details about your parents and siblings are to be mentioned only in one form of application - Additional Family Information (IMM 5406E)

Your parents and siblings are not counted as your dependents though they can apply later for visa on your basis once you are in Canada.

Guide 7000 gives you details of 'Who should fill up the form?' at the beginning of each form and also explains what is dependent Type A, Type B and Type C. Select the one which is applicable in your case. Else, please mention 'Not Applicable' or 'N/A' where ever it does not apply to you in the form. CIC wants to make sure that in all forms relevant to you, you had attempted to fill the entire form.

Yes, Guide 7000 is a very long document to be read at one stretch. But, it will definitely give you all the details relevant to the questions in each form. Use the 'Table of Contents' for easy navigation.

2) I hope you already found the answer to this from the previous explanation.

In case you missed a news/announcement related to new FSW applications. Here is the link below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2012/2012-12-10.asp?utm_source=media-centre-email&utm_medium=email-eng&utm_campaign=generic

I personally don't know your choices or situation. Hence, it is not fair on my part to make even any suggestion whether you should make the application or not. It is completely up to your personal choice. If need be, we can help you in finding the right information for your concerns which might be useful in making your decision. Hope it helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the help again.
I went through the whole set of information given in Guide-7000.
Had few doubts....viz.
1) IMM0008DEPENU - Now,I know you have already mentioned in the previous post about the dependents as only wife and children .So,IMM0008DEPENU form should it have spouse details in it because I have already mentioned it in the IMM0008_3e, in the dependents section ?Also,The checklist IMM5612E mentioned that I should be filling up this form if : Completed ,dated, signed by the Principal Applicant if the applicant has more than five dependents(whether they are accompanying or not) I only have my wife as dependent and parents are not considered as dependent so should I be filling up this form at all ?

2) IMM5669E- Background declaration - This should be different forms for spouse and Principal Applicant ? Right ? This is straight forward but just would like to confirm.

3) IMM5409E - This form is for Common-Law Union and I am traditionally married.I am not sure about the definition of Common-Law union. So should this be filled ?

4) IMM5476E - Not filled because I do not have any representative. This you have already answered ,Thanks ;D

5) IMM5475 - I have no one else working on my case except me and CIC .So do i need to fill-up this form ? Also there is no representative i.e no IMM5476E form.

6) Step 3 - Pay the fees - In - "Submit the application form" section .It says "When submitting your application, to ensure your encoded data is captured, you must include the last page which contains your unique bar-codes."
But the form does not have any bar-codes or validate option. Or do they mean the bar-code page I have got in the IMM0008ENU_2D form ?

Thanks,

Hi friends,
5) Also, I just received my IELTS score ..its...
Reading : 6.5
Writing : 7.0
Speaking : 7.5
Listening : 8.0
Overall : 7.5

I hope that makes me eligible.

Please help.
Hi,
I think that ASK didn't calculate your IELTS points correctly (I think that he had used the old marking system). You have 23 points.
I can't help you with the other questions since I'm in earlier fase than you are.
Common-law partner would be your wife if you weren't married. Since you are, you do need this form.
I have a question for ASK as well: I can see that you had applied three and half years ago and are still not in Canada yet. Did you have some problems with your application or is it normal to last that long?

And one more question: in a document checklist, no.13 it says: You must include evidence of both the total number of years of education along with evidence that the programs were completed.

What does this mean? That I need a proof that in our school system primary school lasts for 8 years, secondary 4, etc. and from whom shoud I get it?
The evidence that I have completed them are the diplomas, I guess.....

I don't think so...when you submit your SSC that is 10th standard certificate it does mean you have completed your ten years of education.
Also, then the question arises do we need to submit our FYJC,SYJC certificates ?
Or just ...

1) 10th class certificate
2) Graduation completion certificate
3) Post Graduation Completion certificate(if any)
4) Other certifications (if any)

I think these should prove that i had 17 or 19 or 15 years of education ...correct me here if I am wrong.
Please somebody answer this asap Also, dont forget the original questions before emiiuki`s post!! :-[
@ emiiuki - ASK dint answer anything about my IELTS score. ???

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Common-Law+Partner

4) IMM5476E - Not filled because I do not have any representative. This you have already answered ,Thanks ;D

5) IMM5475 - I have no one else working on my case except me and CIC .So do i need to fill-up this form ? Also there is no representative i.e no IMM5476E form. How is this point different from your Point No.4? I am not aware of IMM5475, nor can I find it in CIC website for reference. Sorry.

Yes, along with Fee payment form - IMM 5620. IMM 0008 is their primary reference point about you. Rest of the forms are complementing the details you have provided in this form one way or other. This is my personal observation and I might be wrong!

Thanks,

Hi,
I think that ASK didn't calculate your IELTS points correctly (I think that he had used the old marking system). You have 23 points. I had calculated this using the information Vital_Parsley provided and based on how it is mentioned in the official guide CIC has provided for new applicants. Please check the 'Source' I have provided in my response to Vital_Parsley. According to my understanding, your Primary/First official language will earn a maximum of 16 points(which he did earn) and Secondary official language will earn a maximum of 8 points, making a total of 24 for your language skills. There are two official languages in Canada - English and French. I might be wrong on this, as it is my perception of the CIC instruction. Appreciate if you can enlighten me on how you calculated the language skill points for Vital_Parsley as 23 and also kindly provide your 'Source' on instruction to calculate the points for language skills as per the latest marking system
I applied in Nov 2009(practically) and my full documents was received by my Visa Office in May 2010. From the date of receipt of Full Document Submission, it has been 32 months(less than 3 Years). On an 'average', LVO takes around 31 months(Application Process Timings) to complete the process for all those who applied around the same time as I did. This figure tends to change (read increase) from time to time. There are many who applied prior to me and have not even done their 'Medicals' and there are many who applied after me (read: up to 26 June 2010 - M1), who are already in Canada. There is nothing wrong with my application and this delay is absolutely normal. I understand that you are new in this forum and may not be aware of the trends in Canada Immigration Process. All I can do is wish you Good luck with your application.

For Your Information:

Spouse

Refers to either of the two persons (opposite or same sex) in a legally-recognized marriage.

A common-law partner

Refers to a person who is living in a conjugal relationship with another person (opposite or same sex), and has done so continuously for a period of at least one year. A conjugal relationship exists when there is a significant degree of commitment between two people.

Common-law partners must attach any documents that show they are in a committed and genuine relationship, for example, evidence that they share the same home, that they support each other financially and emotionally, that they have had children together, or that they present themselves in public as a couple.

Common-law partners who are unable to live together or appear in public together because of legal restrictions in their home country may still qualify and should be included on the application.

Common-law partners who meet the conditions outlined above but who have been separated for reasons beyond their control (for example, civil war or armed conflict) may qualify and should be included on the application.

Hi,
1) I would like to know about Proof of funds(POF).The letters of all the investments i have made ..should the value in it be shown in canadian dollars or INR ?
Because banks may give me a letter in INR so i may have to specify them to convert them to Canadian dollars and then type it in the letters ?

2) If I am travelling alone without my spouse i.e 1 person then the POF should be of $11,115 CAD else ,if I am traveling with my spouse then the POF should be of $13,837 CAD,Right ? So, in the first case i.e when I am traveling alone can I show the investments or bank statements owned by my wife alone ?
