It sounds like your wife has been in Morocco with you, and has returned to Canada to give birth to the baby. She will be staying with friends, and not working, because she intends to return to Morocco to be with you once the baby is born. Is this right?

As a Canadian citizen, your wife is eligible to sponsor you while she is in Morocco with you. She does not need to be working because there are no minimum income requirements for a spousal sponsorship, and she does not have to have a home in Canada. BUT she does have to demonstrate that she intends to re-settle in Canada when you get your PR, and part of that proof will be showing that arrangements have been made for housing and income.

If, because of the baby coming, she isn't planning to go to work as soon as you get to Canada, she'll need to be able to prove that the two of you have the ability to support your family in Canada until one of you gets a job. The easiest way to do this is if she has family in Canada who will sign a declaration saying that they will provide housing and financial support until you can get established - as CIC will probably question her willingness and ability to go to work when she has a newborn baby. And it may be difficult for her to arrange for a job when she's five months pregnant, and right after the birth of the baby. However, being that she will be in Canada for the next few months, it's an ideal time for her to start making at least some arrangements in preparation for your coming to Canada. Have you filed the PR application yet?

Salam noubi,

Somehow get your wife to show to CIC that she has a place to say like RobsLuv stated.

It will not look good that you guys have no house/financial means in Canada. That means you guys will most likely go on government assistance.

Maybe show them money that you have in your bank account in Morocco. Just send in a statement, stating that this is how much you have, and it will be enough to support you and your wife and child. At least until you find a job or your wife does.

inshAllah lkhair lik o l mertik. Mabrouk 3la l baby!
