Help please - trouble with online linking

Hi all

We filed out outland sponsorship to Mississauga and they received it May 10. We received two emails:

1) One to principal applicant (my husband) asking to link account
2) one to sponsor say application has been received

When we try to link the account it says the data entered does not match up with any application. This happened yesterday and we tried 5 times. Then it said we had to wait 24 hours. The next time we logged in, suddenly it knew we had submitted an application and it stated on a screen that they had received our application May 10. We noticed suddenly says my husband names (i.e. "Name's Account"), but his name is misspelled.... his last name is John and it says Johm. Anyhow, we try to link the application and it still doesn't work. How do we sort this out? It says you need to link application within sever days - we are running out of time!!

Just be patient and continue to try every day. Also make sure you are entering the right info. Even with me entering the right info i still couldn't link right away. Took me 2 weeks to link it. Even if they send you the email. Your name might not be in the actual system yet. Thats what IRCC told me.

Also make sure that for the number of applicants in the application as "2" because they count your husband as an applicant. If you have any dependants then you add one for each of them. Hope this helps!

Ps. IGNORE THE 7 DAYS THING THAT YOU SEE. 95 percent of ppl are unable to link within 7 days and it didnt slow down the process. Untop of all this IRCC website has so many issues right now because of the breakdown on Monday.

I'm concerned his name is incorrect on the portal... "Johm" vs. "John"
guess we will wait and see...le sigh!

I also got a sponsor email but it doesn't say anything about linking - can you confirm I don't need to link anything up there? I did create an online account

The sponsor email should be the UCI number and the application number. This is the AOR1 and you dont have to link anything from this email. You can however, use this information from this email to check the statuses on ECAS.

They will put the same info that you entered on the application form into the system. Did you keep a copy for yourself? so you can make sure you have the correct spelling for his first name?

Yes I have copies and spellings are correct. Also on ECAS his name is spelled correctly. So strange. We sent them a message so hopefully they fix the system

okay well just need to keep trying. The system being bug infested doesnt help either Hopefully you can link it soon

Hi, please use the below method to solve your problem. I linked my account successfully by one try.

Application Number
Applicant's Name
Place of Birth - click box and hit the space bar once, don't type anything
Applicant's Country
Where You Will Reside in Canada - sponsor's address
Number of Applicants - many people get lucky with 2, sponsor and applicant
Leave the passport info blank.
