HELP no idea where to turn, where to get ECA for Vocational studies?

Hi All,

I have posted the below on another forum but have had no luck there and someone on that forum suggested I come here and see if anyone here has possibly sat with the same issue.

Before you read the below we have come to the assumption that my Professional Secretarial Certificate and Professional Secretarial Diploma fall under Vocational studies, and because of this I think that neither of the below will do and ECA for my qualifications?
Well the only site that doesn't explicitly say that they don't do the ECA for vocation studies is ICAS so maybe worth a shot but dont wat to go spend the money and then be turned down again- You know?

*Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies (Date designated: April 17, 2013)
*International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (Date designated: April 17, 2013)
*World Education Services (Date designated: April 17, 2013)
*International Qualifications Assessment Service (Date designated: August 6, 2015)
*International Credential Evaluation Service (Date designated: August 6, 2015)
*Medical Council of Canada (professional body for Doctors) (Date designated: April 17, 2013)
*Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (professional body for Pharmacists) (Date designated: January 6, 2014)

So now we are in a bit of a predicament as we are sitting on 65 points of the 67 needed to get into the express entry pool - And even if I redo my IELTS I can only increase my points by 1 making them 66 which still sets me under the 67 bar. So we have to get my educational credentials assessed other wise we can not get into EE.

So below is my post but i have explain most of it above anyway.

Question being is there anyone that has sat with the same issue and how did you get through it or around it?

I'm honestly hoping that this isn't it for us! I'm hoping that there is somewhere to turn from here to get into the EE!

Thanks all in advance - Hoping to hear from ya'll soonest.

[size=10pt][size=10pt][Hi all,

I'm so lost right now (and highly despondent). I’m hoping that you all can give me some advice, and positive feedback with regards to the below

Long story short (and it’s still a long story J) but here goes: We sent through my Post Secondary Qualifications to World Education Services (WES) for an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) and in the process of this they requested my Secondary Education (Matric) transcripts which we sent through. However once we received the ECA report it was only for my Matric and not for my Post-secondary education which we applied for.

I queried with them (on their website help section as there is no other way to contact them unless you want to be on hold for more than 40 min) as to why we didn’t receive an ECA for my Post secondary and only for my Matric and after another long wait they said that they will "investigate"

They have now come back to me saying that "We do not evaluate occupational, vocational, trade or professional development qualifications"

What is this? As I have a Professional Secretarial Certificate and a Professional Secretarial Diploma that I studied hard for and which included subjects like Financial Accounting, Human resources, Business Management etc. So it’s not just a "simple course" Its actually an NQF6

But now I’m not sure which of their categories this would fall under. vocational? trade? occupational? or professional development qualifications?

And also not sure as to where I would be able to get my qualifications assessed?

Also on the WES website I see there is an option to have Vocational studies assessed so their mail was not 100% accurate.

Anyway so my question is where to now? How do I find out what category my qualification falls under? Occupational? Vocational? Trade? Professional development?

And then where would I go to get them evaluated?

I feel like giving up today L because without these ECA’s we only have 65 of the 67 points needed to get into EE.

Help please.]

Not sure about ICAS, if they assess Vocational courses.

My only suggestion would be to take up higher studies (better if it's in Canada) and then apply again if you still have the benefit of age.

I won't say it's easy...but your above concern is taken care off (if you really study through the forums i suggested above).

When a person with family is issued a student visa, the child and spouse can be included in the application and the spouse is issued a work permit to enable him/her to work while the partner is studying. In fact the student also gets a work visa when applied to allow him/her to work either on or off campus with certain restrictions of working hours while he/she is a student.

Caveat: Off course the spouse has to leave the current job and look for a new job there in Canada which may be below his/her experience or qualification...but the benefit is eventually when you will apply for EE after a year of so, all these will add to your CRS points.

So i again suggest please go through the forum and its various threads on different topics for find the best path and the college for yourself.

Thanks for this - I think that this will have to be our last option.

two last questions before I go through the 1000's of threads for the student visa etc.
Code:
Once studies are done in Canada can i stay and apply for EE from there or PR?
Code:
Also on a student visa do you get a grant for children for schooling? I.E. day care etc.? (silly question but will never know if i don't ask)

Thanks again @CanadaWeCome

Code:
Also on a student visa do you get a grant for children for schooling? I.E. day care etc.? (silly question but will never know if i don't ask) A: I am not sure about that...but i guess you should for schooling...don't know about daycare though...assume that would be on your cost.

Thanks again @CanadaWeCome
You are welcome.
