Came up with a question:

There is a list of 5 people I should write in our Relationship Forms, who knows about our relation.
So I have given family members and friends contact details, do they need to write an Affidavit or no?

No, not explicitly required, but it certainly makes sense to because of a related checklist item where it asked to provide evidence that your friends and family are aware of the relationship. We asked the same people that we listed in the form to write letters explaining How and Why they know the marriage/relationship to be genuine.

Our Viber msgs and texts conversation is in our native language, and I am printing all those stuff, it’s more than a lot.

Do I need to translate it by a certified translator and notarize it?

No, you can translate those yourself as it’s not an official documents. You can submit up to 10 pages of your communication so choose wisely.

We have our civil marriage certificate from third country since I can not travel back to my home country.
We stamped and verified the marriage certificate from all embassies and ministry of foreign affairs in all related countries.

Is that enough or do we need to apply for a marriage certificate in our home country embassy located in Ottawa?

You don't need to apply for another marriage certificate.

You don't need a cover letter.

It is not a mandatory to write any cover letters however some people write something like “Love story essay” describing how they met and fell in love and how their relationship progressed with time and what made them realize that they were “The one” for each other and what makes their relationship with their significant other so special.

Thanks a lot for the information, some people, they were saying to have a letter written as cover so that they know that its spousal sponsorship, this information they have given looks so weird, so I just posted in here to see if its okay to do so.

Is it okay to follow the checklist and prepare documents based on that?

Just follow the checklist and put all the documents in order they listed in the checklist. Its also mentioned in basic guide that the document checklist should be on top then those barcode pages and then all the documents in order they listed in the document checklist. They specifically put it in that order so it would be easier for the officers to work with applications.

Family members
An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application to CIC. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.

Just the principal applicant. The definition of family members accordingly to CIC is spouse/common law partner and any dependent children. You don’t have to provide police certificates for your parents or brothers/sisters for example.
