There is a Mismatch in Surname in Passport and Visa/COPR.

Does this needs to be corrected before landing. The airlines and home country emigration allow to travel with this Visa

Please find below details.. is this a Problem

If it needs to be corrected any idea how long NDVO will take to correct this.

In latest Passport

Surname : XYZ

Given name : ABC

IN Visa/COPR

Surname : ABC XYZ

Given name : <blank>

NB: In Old Passport and Initial for Visa application, I had My surname field Blank and Given name was 'ABC XYZ'. While submitting the Passport for Stamping, I requested CHC to correct the same as in latest Passport.

CIC processed your visa according to your application and passport. Your request has been ignored based on the submitted documents.
However, you don't waste time to get it corrected now. Leave it as it is. When the time comes to apply for Canadian citizenship, on completion of your residency obligation in Canada, you can get your name corrected and submit the application for citizenship.

I send my PPT and COPR yesterday to CHC

=============================
This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

If there are any errors found on your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) form or the Permanent Resident Visa you will have to return the original COPR and the passport to the visa office in order for new documents to be issued. All passports and original COPRs for the principal applicant as well as all dependents are required to be submitted, even if the error is only found on one person’s document. Please also provide additional passport-sized photos to be placed on your reissued COPR(s).

You should not travel to Canada until you have the correct information on your COPR and visa.

To obtain a corrected version, the COPR and your passports should be sent to the High Commission of Canada by a secure means of either registered post, commercial courier or the services of VFS.

Please quote your complete file number on all correspondence with our office

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

After around 1.5 months on 12th Jan 2015 I send a mail to CHC requesting to send me the corrected Visa and COPRs.

They replied that they had already mailed it to my agent through registered POSt on 18th Dec 2014 and has not been returned undelivered.

I called up my agent and he said it is not yet delivered to himyet. Later he checked with the post office and by the grace of god, the documents were at the post office. He collected it from them and mailed me.

Today i received the updated documents and they are correct.

so for me I got the documents corrected VISA and COPR within 2 weeks.... CHC NDVO is a Superfast express now.. :)

Just updated the details so that it might be helpful for others in the forum with similar worries.
