Help needed in Filling appication

Dear All,

I am filling out my application for citizenship and was puzzled by few questions.

1: It says to list all addresses whether in Canada or Abroad. I traveled 4 times outside Canada. Not sure what address should I write as some of the stays were in hotels. They were about 3, 3.5 years back, so getting the address of the hotels could be challenging.

2. For three months I stayed with my friend, whose family went back home. I was at huge stress, as my wife was receiving her cancer treatment, so my friend did not let me rent somewhere else. I needed support, and he supported me to unmatched level.
For the next 6 months, my other friend was going back home and I stayed in his home. Never changed the addresses on my driving license as it was a new development and had troubles with the Address/ postal codes of that new area. Though, it was in the same city. Now the problem I have is, should I give my address on my driving license or the address I was physically living? If I give my address for where I was physically living, I could get tenancy agreement/ letters from them about those times. Whereas, if I give the address on my driving license, and tomorrow if I need a tenancy agreement from the landlord, of course, I am not gonna get that, as I was not living there.
I am working for the same employer since September 2009, so a letter from the employer is the not an issue. I have one of the most cooperative employer, as I was absent for 4 months for my wife’s cancer, and when I came back, I started my job straight away. So I have no gap in my job since September 2009 except those 4 months.
please help.

noolan ,

First sorry for your wife hope every thing well with her . regarding for your question the answer so easy see what address you used

to file your tax and this is your address which the same as your driving licence i guess and dont worry about visit trip oversea

if it is big deal for you ask your credit card the history and you can find out which hotel (s) you stayed .

oh last thing in this country you dont need 2B so much honest :)

Thanks gamasa for your reply. My wife is doing OK. That is the greatest news for me. I really don't care about the citizenship.
I am here working full time, bought my own home, and am going no where, Therefore, I don't mind delays in my citizenship. although, we all would love to get it sooner than later.
Can any one else please comment here? I read on this forum about RQ, and I looked one of the potential RQ TARGET. I always have my car insurance, full time job, many many purchases on my cc and my bank accounts are also fairly active. But the only problem were these addresses. It's not easy to find house of your choice when you come to Canada, or leave in emergency and then you are stuck looking for a good place within your budget to live. and in those days was not really wanted a one year contract if i had to leave because of my wife's illness.

Thanks to all in advance.

If you were just travelling outside of Canada briefly and not living in the hotel for 4 months, I would not list these on your address history.

You should absolutely list this address. On the off chance that you receive a Residence Questionnaire, it could be helpful to get your friend to sign an affidavit (go to a notary or commissioner of oaths) swearing that you were living there.

You absolutely need to list the address where you were physically living. I know it might seem simpler to list your driver's license address, but you need to see a citizenship judge or fill out a Residence Questionnaire later in the citizenship process, knowing that you told the whole truth will be a big help.
If you get an RQ, it would also be helpful to get this other friend to sign an affidavit attesting to your tenancy there (paid or free). Absolutely do not attempt to get a false tenancy agreement to correspond with your driver's license. Going through the RQ process and the citizenship judge hearing is stressful, but at least you will be able to take refuge in the truth. Going through these processes knowing that you told a lie about where or when you were living somewhere, even if it's a lie told for simplicity rather than to manufacture a residence history in Canada, is a game for the foolhardy.

eileenf!

Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate your kind help. It cleared the whole thing nicely. I was in doubt about the physical address and my driving licence address. My citizenship time completed beginning of May. I was in doubt about it and tried to get the full information before applying. I never wanted any wrong thing going in my application. I work for a big employer, and have full time job throughout this time except the 4 months when i went to be with my wife for her treatment. I have my passport, my tickets, boarding passes etc for all the trips. No doubt about that except this ''physical address thing''.
As I said before, I am going no where, I love Canada, and would live for the rest of my life here hopefully. RQ etc and delays in my application is not the end of the world for me. But i wanted to make sure everything is in order for me; and thank you so much for your help in this regard.
God Bless you..
