help needed for profile evaluation

Hi All friends,

I need your valuable sugestion on my profile and chances for getting VISA.....

PFB my profile:
SSC in 2001 with 80.26%
HSC in 2003 with 79.50%
B.E. in Instrumentation (passout in 2007) with 69 % (First class with Distinction)
After completing my BE I joined IT industry in july 2007 and since then working....
IELTS Score 7.0
I've applied to Project Managment (post graduate certificate program) in Centennial College and got admit letter as well for Jan 2012.

I'm planning to submit my VISA application in 1st or 2nd week of Oct as my loan procedure is in progress.

I've read most of the post from this forum and came to know about Study mismatch causing VISA rejections.


Will you please suggest on VISA chances for my profile? also any suggestion for improvement in docs or SOP,cover letter before applying for VISA. If loan is sanctioned planning for SPP else general procedure.

Here we all are students, not experts. So no one can answer you in straight Yes/No. I wish good luck to you.

Anyway, just out of curiosity I would like to ask you something;


1. What's the relation between B.E (Instrumentation) and your proposed course 'PG Certificate in Progect Management' ?


2. You have a very good academic record, thn why a Certificate course in a College ! Why not a Master's degree in a reputed University ?

Dude after seeing you profile, i suggest you to put sop though it is not required under spp but many students have attached sop , this would surely help you and increase you chances for visa.

But do counsult others , and do put sop.

There is actually no relation in Instrumenttaion and Project managment. As one is purely technical course and other is manegerial.
I've am working in the IT industry for the last 4 years, straight out of college after my B.E. I have always played the role of a lead and other managerial tasks have been a constant feature of my job profile.Lately I have realised that this kind of job interests me a lot and I am quite good at it. So I decided to go for Project Management as this will be very lucrative for my career. This is a short course of just one year with co-op so its best suited for me. If I get direct entry to second year masters programme after completion of this course, then it would be very good for me. So my fingers are crossed for that.
But I wanted to ask, that as you suggested, will my opting for one year course in opposition to 2 years master, create any problems for me during VISA? I am actually a little worried about it.

Thanks buddy for your advice. I am currently working on my SOP, it will take some time to be completed and I dont want any stones unturned. Hopefully it will come out quite agreeable. I will continuously seek your advice and help for writing it.

As I said earlier that you have a very good academics with 4+ years of work experience and that’s really makes your candidature very promising for visa purpose. But still its better “to be critical” while analyzing anything concerning Visa process. I do not want to discourage you at all, but as I said its better “to be critical”, so I would say I am not feeling very confidant with your proposed study (One year PG Certificate Course in Project Management). Here we have many rejection cases under SPP but very few for those who are aspiring for Master level course (in fact on this forum, I have not even notice a single rejection so far for any Master level student), as you might be aware that it takes “lots of efforts” to get admission in a University, and Visa officer knows it very well. As you said you have LOA from Centennial college, I am sure you must be under guidance of some consultancy/agent.


And as you are also planning to put one SOP along with your application, but I am afraid if Visa Officer is even going to read it, because decisions to grant Visa is made solely on the basis of facts and SOP is not a part of Visa Checklist, and there is no mean available to the Visa Officer to verify the contents of SOP and not just SOP, they do not even prefer instruments like affidavits, Property valuation etc but of course there is no harm in writing a SOP. I hope it will only strengthen your candidature. Visa is granted more on the basis of “overall profile” rather thn just meeting/satisfying the minimum requirement.


I am not an expert but a student like you, so whatever I said is just my opinions, so I might be wrong with my assessment. I still feel you have good chances as your academics are impressive.

Dude in IT company what was your main task, was it managerial or completely IT related....

I've joined as fresher and promoted to Lead in 1 and half yr of time.
recently I've changed my company and perfromg Sr dev role.

In 4 yr of exp I've worked in managing team and delivery for almost 2 and half yrs.
