my application was sent last week of march 2010 by my representative and now she told me that the cio told her i should take ielts wich i already took 2 years ago but my representative forgot to tick the box indicating i took the exam. and just a week ago she emailed a scanned of my ielts result, to the cio i guess, i really dont know how the process goes.
by the way , how does cio inform you if your papers are lacking? through email? or they just send your application back to you?

Hi,

First of all you will need to redo the IELTS as it should not be older than 1yr and as you said yours is 2 yrs old it will not be accepted. Secondly i dont know why they have asked you about the IELTS because if you have send the application at the end of march then you were not required to send the IELTS result. And lastly if they reject your application they will inform you by returning your full application with the letter stating the reason of rejection.

Are you from the philippines? coz if you are then cio will be requesting a photocopy of your ielts as part of your initial application and yes it should be less than 1 year old. all initial application of federal skilled workers will go through cio nova scotia first with asttachments ( ielts result, copy of passport and the application forms, payment form) then after 2 months if you are eligible then cio will forward your docs to manila visa office and then the visa office will require of the visa office specific documents which you have to submit within 120 days. but there's a new process now. as of june 26, 2010 you will have to sumit all the visa specific docs to cio nova scotia. CIO will return your application and will send also a letter why they are returning your docs. I think you have to take the ielts again.

Hi ,

Although IELTS results is valid for 2 years but CIC requires that it shoud not be older than 1 year ONLY at the date of application.

so you have to count one year from the date of your IELTS exam.results older than 1 year will not be accepted by CIO

cio requirement of ielts must be 1 year old. In my case My ielts will expire on Aug 22, 2011. I sent my initial application to cio last Feb 26, 2010 before my ielts will be one year old.
