Check here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp

Read about it and see if your uncle can sponsor you. If not, there are other ways of immigrating to Canada and you can read about those here:

There are 3 possibilities for your uncle to sponsor you.

1. You are under 18 and an orphan

2. Your uncle has no parents alive, no children, no wife and no other close relatives who are citizens or other closer relatives overseas that he can sponsor.

3. Your uncle moves to Manitoba or Saskatchewan, lives there for 1 year and then applies to sponsor you under a Provincial nominee program.

If none of this works, ask your uncle if he can help you get a job offer in Canada. It is possible for an employer in BC to sponsor you through PNP.

Are you less than 18 years old and an orphan (both parents deceased)?

If not, does your uncle have a wife, children or parents who are still alive?

Based on the information you have provided, your uncle does NOT qualify to sponsor you through family class.

As Leon mentioned, if your uncle decided to move to Manitoba or Saskatchewan - then he would qualify to sponsor you after living in one of these provinces for one full year.

Why? Becase those are the rules.

To qualify you would have to be an orphan (your mother would have to be deceased). Or your uncle would have to have no wife, no children and his parents would have to be deceased. Since this isn't the case, your uncle can't sponsor you.

You'll have to find a different way to immigrate to Canada. As Leon mentioned, maybe your uncle can help to find you a job in BC so that you can apply through the Provincial Nominee Program.

If you are under 18, you could apply for a study visa for a minor to go to Canada to school but because you are not a permanent resident, it might not be cheap. Your uncle can act as your guardian. If money is not a problem and you can continue to study once you get to college, you can get an off campus work permit to work along with your studies and on holidays and once you graduate, if you can get a job offer, you can find a way to stay.

Getting a job offer and getting sponsored through an employer when you are under 18 is not possible as far as I know. You are still a minor until age 19 in BC. Aside from that, you can generally not be sponsored through an employer unless you can show that you have some expertise to do the job, including work experience.

Okay. But could he adopt me? How?
You will have to prove that he is adopting you for your best interest and not just for immigration purposes.

It's there also an age limit - like 16?
