Hi everyone,

I want to do my landing at the Peace Bridge and have gotton my COPR. I want to do my landing ASAP.

However, i am on an implied status and i know that the officers will ask me for my status in Canada. How can i prove that i am on a implied status?. I have already applied for the Bridging Open Work Permit and am still waiting for it. PLEASE help. Thank You and much appreciated.

I don't think so you need to think about that if you are from a visa exempted country...you should just be able to go and then land in as a permanent resident...or you can try landing at your local CIC office.

Hi,

I am not from a visa exempt country and would need a US visa as well. I want to do my landing (Flag pole) at peace bridge. The thing that i am trying to figure out is how can i prove that i am on a implied status when i do my landing.

P.S. i called the local CIC office to book an appointment and it takes more than 2 months to get one and it's too long to wait. Thank You

i am not sure how things are working around with you....technically when you would have got the copr and you are not from a visa exempted country, your VO should have pasted a permanent resident visa on your passport...try calling CIC for more details.

I do have the Permanent resident visa on my passport as CPP-O Ottawa has pasted it.My only concern is that i have read people's experience doing the flag poling and the officers would ask for your status in canada.

I would obviously have to tell them that i am on a implied status but i would need to prove it. So my only concern is that how can i prove that i am on an implied status?. Thanks

If you are flag poling, you do not actually "enter" the USA and therefore do not need a US visa. You simply tell the US officers what you are doing, they will give you an "administrative refusal" and send you back to Canada.

The thing that i am trying to figure out is how can i prove that i am on a implied status when i do my landing.

If you are on implied status, you submitted an application for a work permit before the old one expired. So bring the expired work permit, and proof of your application. If it is in the system, they will be able to see it. You can bring a copy of your your submission receipt (if you applied online), or some other document that shows when you mailed your BOWP application. But I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks Jes-ON for clarifying,

As for proof of implied status, I do not have a copy of the application for Bridging Open Work permit and i applied using paper application. In hindsight 20/20, i should have made an extra copy. That said, i do not have a copy of the mailing of my BOWP either as well.

However, i DO have the Client's Copy "Stamped Receipt (IMM 5401) payment of $150" for my BWOP. That works as well right?...And of course my expired Post-Grad Work Permit. I applied for BWOP before the expiry of my Post-Grad Work Permit. That 2 documents can prove my implied status?...Thanks again for clarification.

P.S can i even do my Landing (Flag Poling) at Peace Bridge on a implied status?

That's good, bring that- I assume there's a date on that, right?

That 2 documents can prove my implied status?... Should be enough, but unlikely to need it at all.

Can i even do my Landing (Flag Poling) at Peace Bridge on a implied status?
Yes.

Can you please let me know if you have completed your landing process? If so, please share your experience and let me know what all questions were asked. I'm planning to do the landing in the next two weeks.
