Hello. My wife is coming from India as she just received PR. Is it true that to enter she needs to purchase health insurance? I read somewhere that it is a requirement to even enter the country?
I don't know if it is a requirement but it would be a good idea for the first 3 month before being eligible for public health system. It will cost you around 300$.GoldenboyCA said:Hello. She might not be covered by healthcare for 3-4 months so you're gambling. Any accident or health scare will come out of pocket.GoldenboyCA said:dont really wanna spend 300 on something that most likely wont even be needed. Does anyone else know for sure if it is mandatory or not?
Yes I think either you take health insurance coverage for the first three months or pay any unforeseen health related costs from your pocket!SaskinSeoul said:She might not be covered by healthcare for 3-4 months so you're gambling. Any accident or health scare will come out of pocket.
Yeah it's a big gambling, you save about 300$ if nothing happens it's ok but if you get sick it will cost way more than 300$SaskinSeoul said:She might not be covered by healthcare for 3-4 months so you're gambling. Any accident or health scare will come out of pocket.
