Health Card for PR Awaiting child

Hi Guys,

Me and my wife are PR, but due to covid, my son was born outside of Canada. I have already filed his PR application and already received AOR. He is in Canada with us on a TRV.

Is it possible to get the health card for him? Anybody with similar experience in Ontario?

Unfortunately the child will not qualify for OHIP until after he becomes a PR.

I have heard that there are a few applicants with the same scenario who have managed to get the health card. So looking for those.

You likely heard incorrectly because it is very clear that they don’t qualify.
