My husband just called to say he just got finished with his appt at the Cdn Embassy in Lima. HE HAS HIS PR VISA!!!!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who has offered their kind words of support. I KNOW your applications won't take as long as ours has and you will be united with your spouses soon!!

Timeline:
Application Date August 8, 2006
Sponsorship Approval Date Sept 20, 2006
Lima Embassy started processing case Sept 26, 2006
Interview Nov 30, 2006
Passport Requested, handed in April 1, 2008
PR Visa Received July 22, 2008 !!
714 days!!!!

Congratulations LCS!!! I have been following your case. I'm really happy for you!

Thanks to all of you who seem to be waiting longer than usual like we have been. Especially to Gotchaa, I know your unfair treatment and having to appeal has really set things back. You know I have been in the same position thinking things will be in limbo forever. I still can't quite believe the battle with CIC is almost over after almost 2 years.
I will continue to monitor this site for the progress on all of you.

Congrats LCS............ Few days back you was so worried on background check.... Finally it comes positive.
Did the embassy asked to do the medical again or first one was sufficient?

He submitted the first set of medical and police clearance back in the fall of 2006 when it all started. In Feb 2008 they asked for renewed medical exam and police clearance because this had taken so long it had all expired.

Congratulations - I'm so happy for you!!!!

Wow! Congratulations!

I sure hope my wifes application goes smoothly, it seems like there is so much that can go wrong to delay things.
Im so happy for you and your husband, it must feel great to know you will be together soon, and this time permanently!

Thanks to you all again. I know many of you have been in a long wait the same as us. I hope "the system" comes through soon for you too. Just keep the faith that it WON'T take 22 months once it got to the processing Embassy, like it did for us.

Congrats!!!

I thought I would hear this great news in the Good News Thread... ha ha ha ha

It is good to hear. I really thought you were going to have to appeal because of how long they took. Very very happy for you.
