I am going for Sept 24 intake for Masters.

I have applied through SDS
File submitted: 28th March 2024
Biometric: 8th April 2024
Medical updated: 19 May 2024
Eligibility & Background check: Under processing

Even raised a webform and got a response that the application is under process.

I am trying to understand where the issue lies. Why is it that people applying after me are getting their PPR whereas those who have applied before them are not getting the PPR?

Depends on the office and number of applicants and staffing issues. So many factors. Most people get within the processing times of 14 weeks. Most SDS are not processed quickly but some within normal processing times. Nothing you can do.

All you can do is wait. What program and what school?

NYIT likely the issue. If you had gone to a public university likely faster processing.
There are some people I contacted recently who are also going to attend NYIT for Sept 24 intake and received it within a month. However, they applied on 9th of April and received their passport with stamping in the first week of May.

Why the province still approves NYIT masters programs boggles my mind. Essentially a degree mill but mostly masters degrees. Most Canadians and employers have never heard of this school.
