Although it is nice to see so many people getting their visa's this week. I am so depressed that after waiting for almost 2yrs we were denied. I ask myself what did we do wrong with our application when people can get through and get visa's in less then 6 months. Now we have to wait another possibly 2-3 years for an appeal in Montreal.

Dear Galano, every case is diferent for many reazons and those are out of our control, be happy for those cuples that
like you and your husband feel love each other and are getting reunited, stay strong and focus on the appeal enjoy
life and take a look at the posible mistakes from what you sayd they did at your husband interview, theres a treat
in here that have so much info that you can use in your apeal, i just want to wich you very good luck and to be very
happy with your husband.

Hi everyone!
Married my Cuban husband this week which is sooo excited....but know we are overwhelmed with the papers we now need. I know I knew the answer to this first question at one point...but have heard so many different things and the connection on the internet here is not so good for researching...so as always I am bringing my questions here because everyone is so helpful!
1.. All of my hubands papers are done in spanish and notarized (minus our marriage certificate). All of these (birth certificate, military paper, police check) need to be translated into english in cuban and notarized in Havana not Canada, right? Any that don´t need translation?
2... We heard that we need to include copies of the birth certificates of all the members of his family. Is this true?

Thanks in advance!
Congrats to all that had good news this week!

We had my husbands birth certificate, Police certificate and our marriage certificate translated into english and notarized in Canada. The military certificate is only used in Havana to prove that he has completed it. Must be included in the application but no need to translate. Family birth certificates are not necessary unless of course it is a child that is coming with the spouse. I suggest you download the Sponsorship information for sponsorship guide for Cuba from the cic web site and follow it. I read it several times before gathering info.

Is the military document required? I did not see that on the app but we did include in the Schedule A.

Thanks in advance!
Congrats to all that had good news this week!

Is it just me seeing applications where the Canadian spouse is pregnant getting visa's quicker than those who are not ? ?????

We've heard nothing from them..... I asked my MP to ask them in March what was going on with our file. They replied and said they're still working on the application and the security check would be next. My husband has already handed in 3 police checks??? They also reminded me that it could take up to 17 months..... My husbands medical check expires in June also. There's no rhyme or reason how they work in Havana

did you put an email address on the application ? If you did that you can email Havana to extend your spouses medical Sometimes they do it automatically but I would ask for it just in case. you could ask someone going to Cuba to have your husband sign the form and than bring it back and mail it to you. I asked someone to do that My husband met them at the airport signed the papers and they brought them back to Canada and mailed them to me.

I did put my email address on the application... I will try and get a hold of them to ask for an extension.
I will keep my ears open if anyone is going to Cuba soon and I will send them with the form Thanks for your advice :)

You could mail the form to your spouse and have him fax it back to you as you would be faxing it to get your GSCM notes anyway.
