even if he has no family in the US,,,miami is the CUBA for cubans outside Cuba...We get more benefits in the US than in Canada(apart from the fact that we get the same weather and a cuban community).
Cubans who get visit visas to mexico(they all pay 10 000 to the corrupted visa officer to get the visa) and ALL of them go to the US border once in Mexico..
and its close to impossible to get a visit visa for a cuban to the US,,why do you think the Wet Foot Dry foot policy exist?

Canadians spouses suffer because CIC is broken and it doesnt work,,can they do something to fix the problems they have? yes they can but they dont want to,,,its better for them getting your 1040 cad for sponsorship than 100 for a trv...

Hey maybe u know the answer to this questions that has had me scratching my head for weeks... How come Canadians cant get inside the CANADIAN Embassy in Havana to ask about immigration stuff...only Cubans can...makes no sense to me lol

What happened was that they used to let Canadians inside the embassy even for the interview with their partenrs BUT,,,some Canadians flipped out when they were being asked STUPID questions about their relationship(even sexual questios) or when their spouses got denied,,
Canadians are born in a free country,,,where you can protest if you see something that is not right,,in Cuba you cant do that(hence its a communist country) and Cubans we are very used to that,,,so,,its easier to deal with ''us'' cubans than with ''you free Canadians''..
again,,99% of the embassy staff are Cubans so,go figure,,,,
You are a Canadian citizen so,maybe if you had PUSHED more,,and I mean the cuban way,,,they might had let you in,,,they cant send you to prison for protesting outside the embassy(like they would with a cuban) so,,maybe that might had worked...

get your MP involved...call at 7:45 am CIC because 4 months is way more than what theyre supposed to take to process your SA..

Hmm ok guess Im just going to have to be patient :/ How long does it take for the application to reach Havana from SA?

it took mine less than a week! I received an email addressing my husband with a different UCI number... i actually didnt realize it was a message for him until 2 weeks after the fact!!

When did you get SA?

stay patient... if we look back to our wedding dates doesnt it feel like a million years ago? and look how far we have come already.

today i feel positive.... tomorrow who knows!! hahaha

the reason cubans get refused visit visas to canada is because 99% of the staff at the Canadian embassy are CUBANS!(ive been to the canadian embassy more times than what i can remember since i was 19) so,they know that all cubans have the right to (once in Canada) go to the US border and apply for Asylum(Cuban adjustment law)...trust me,,thats their main concern...you can count with your hand the cubans that have overstayed in canada in the past 10 years..
and its such a bull,,sometimes they approve old people(parents of canadians citizens or PR) even when ''like the rest of the cubans'' do not have travel history,,nor ''ties'' strong enough(like 10000 usd in the bank) so,its a really unfair system...i have a friend who worked at the embassy and you dont wanna know the way they treat trv apps...

I was curious about this because when I was there, they wouldn't let me into the embassy either and everyone I could see from the gate was Cuban.
So, in Toronto, are all the people that work at the Cuban embassy, Canadian? It's only fair...lol

nope,,,in toronto,,montreal,,and ottawa all the staff at the cuban consulate and embassy are CUBANS..
if i was canadian though,,I would get into the embassy in havana,,,maybe its because You guys are too nice and polite(i mean this as a compliment)
if you screamed and pushed into the embassy of course you would get in(the cuban way) but they know canadians dont do that and a simple no is enough....
no matter where you are,,,if you seek info at your embassy THEY have to let you in....
another easier option is to say you did something bad or that you lost your passport they WOULD have to let you in

they do....just know the right people...
all the embassies that are in cuba(well at least most of them) sell visas...its a very corrupted system...

The difference is that there is the embassy and the visa office. You can go to an embassy, but not a visa office. You need an appt for the visa office, and a canadian would never need that= no access.

the embassy is in Havana,,,thats the only one everyone goes to...
