Yes I should have called my MP earlier at least they got some positive information and told me to call back by Friday next week and they would call again to make sure it was sent to outland. I am off to Cuba on Sunday for a week.

Hello everyone Nice to see some positive energy flowing... I need it these days. Ok so here is my story. My husband and i filled out and signed all our papers in June/July and I mailed everything as soon as I recieved his UK Police record check in the mail. The package was delivered to CIC in Mississauga on Aug 20th acorrding to Canada Post... I didnt get any emails or anything confirming that they recieved the application, which would have Been super stressful if I didnt have a way to track it..thank god I paid the extra few dollars for that huh?! Luckily i was able to go to Cuba in Sept to Spend time with my husband while we wait for the first hurdle. Sept 25th I recieved an email requesting the new updated form which Changed in August and that they need it within 45 days. This was super frustrating considering everything was signed and sent by July. It makes no sense to have people Send new forms if the application was recieved in August!? How are people suppose to know that there will be a new form??? Do they not think people would Send the appropriate form in the first place??? anywayyyyyyssss. So we sent off the new form a couple days later and Canada post delivered it on oct 30th. Okay soooo november 15th would have Been 45 days from when they sent me that email saying they need the new form. Ok so what is frustrating is that if they are giving me a time limit of 45 days to get the form to them then shouldnt they also Send me something within that time as Well once they see that they recieved it or Something....ANYTHING. We went to the Canadian Embassy in Havana a couple of days ago to see if I could get at least SOME information. We get to the Embassy and the lady at the gate tells me that they only deal with Consulate issues and that Immigration is on the other side of the building BUT Canadians arent allowed to Enter hahahaha to the CANADIAN EMBASSY. Can someone Please explain to me why, because im still scratching my head trying to figure that one out. anywhooo long story short the guy tells my husband that they havent received anything (Duh!lol) but that apparently its "in process" , Which i didnt believe he Even looked into that but okaaaayyy. I have never recieved a Client number or anything like that, nore have i Been able to look myself up on that status checker thingy. So now here i am flying alllllllthe way back to Canada right now just so that i can call CIC (since 1-800 numbers dont work from Cuba, or at least i cant seem to figure out how to make it work) to see what the heck is happening ( ITS BEEN ALMOST 4 months now since I mailed our application with which seems to me like nothing is happening! :*( I should be spending time with my Family instead of flying around the world just to get some answers. This is so frusterating and heart breaking! I feel for u alllll... its so hard to have your life on hold like this.... I just wish there was a little more communication from the CIC side. It would really save us from ripping out al ot of our hair

If u read my history it is similar to what you are going through. You can call from Cuba but it is not toll free the number is 1-613-944-4000. When you sent in the new form your wait time goes to anther 45 days from the day they receive it. my application was sent in July and had the same issue I had my MP call Friday of last week and they had it as an inland and should have been outland so it will be another 10 days to be put to outland and I would suggest that u make sure that yours is not in the wrong area.

has anyone had a visitor visa approved while waithing for sponsorship? Im just wondering if i should Apply for one for my husband to visit in the mean time? I know Chances are slim but maybe since he has had visas to other countries in the past that would Help? Any insite on this?

We tried 3 times, with a support letter from the minister of immigration, and were still denied a visitor visa

the reason cubans get refused visit visas to canada is because 99% of the staff at the Canadian embassy are CUBANS!(ive been to the canadian embassy more times than what i can remember since i was 19) so,they know that all cubans have the right to (once in Canada) go to the US border and apply for Asylum(Cuban adjustment law)...trust me,,thats their main concern...you can count with your hand the cubans that have overstayed in canada in the past 10 years..
and its such a bull,,sometimes they approve old people(parents of canadians citizens or PR) even when ''like the rest of the cubans'' do not have travel history,,nor ''ties'' strong enough(like 10000 usd in the bank) so,its a really unfair system...i have a friend who worked at the embassy and you dont wanna know the way they treat trv apps...

hmmm... My parents wanted to invite my hubby for a family wedding but the week we were about to issue the invite letter i got word of my SA. as not to 'push our luck' we decided that it was best we waited until we got full approval.

I heard it is almost impossible to be approved when your sponsorship papers are in processing... especially be cause we are so close, I'm just counting the days.

even if he has no family in the US,,,miami is the CUBA for cubans outside Cuba...We get more benefits in the US than in Canada(apart from the fact that we get the same weather and a cuban community).
Cubans who get visit visas to mexico(they all pay 10 000 to the corrupted visa officer to get the visa) and ALL of them go to the US border once in Mexico..
and its close to impossible to get a visit visa for a cuban to the US,,why do you think the Wet Foot Dry foot policy exist?

If the Canadian government offered a Fiancee visa to cubans they would have less problems,,BUT,,,of course they are just scared of getting their wrists slapped from the US once cubans start crossing the border...

not long,,but i would really suggest you to get your GCMS notes to know where is everything,,if its been 4 months,,,mmm somethings up..
