I think this is a good change.

It could deter some people from using Canadian citizens or residents. But there will always be those who decide to wait the two years out and then wear their true colours.

Before I meant that it doesn't affect us in the sense that it will be pretty easy for all of us who marry for the right reasons to prove that we've maintained a legitimate relationship during the two years.

Am I an open book I do like organizing things...am an office Admin and bookkeeper....so spreadsheets, balancing and budgeting excite me. zzzzz I know did I put you guys to sleep? But really I do have more exciting hobbies ;D

Correct! No AOR yet from Havana, like most others, I am actually expecting communication to my hubby via phone before getting that AOR. But I'll take whatever I can get!

You think we should put a column for # of days since sponsorship approval? I thing we have one in the regular June spreadsheet and for those of us waiting on Havana, it shows us how long we've been waiting with no word from Havana!

CIC waiting times have dropped significantly Sassy so expect something for stage one before the end of November I feel! woohoo!

I too am feeling ultra lazy today.. but am already committed to a 4 hr lasagna : lol have been up since 9 cleaning and watching tv, I suppose now is a good time to get that meat sauce going!

Whoo hoo mental health day! We all need one! Who wants to work for Peanuts anyways?!? DDG I am really sorry to hear about your friends parents. That is awful. I honestly do not hear too many crime stories from Cuba. Maybe it is b/c my man is from a small town...when I asked about crime he was like WHAT?!?! lol He was actually shocked by homeless people in Havana. Bless him...I warned him Toronto will be a big change for him.
Anyways, I hope your friends recover from the shock and awful nature of this crime soon. I will keep them in my thoughts today.

I know crazy right. They were 60's -70's. They lived in a small modest house, when there are many others grander with more material wealth to be stolen. We think, it's because thier son is a famous musician that travels all over the world. They must have thought the house would have money or something. Don't know full details yet, like if they caught who did it, or know who did it but wow...total state of disbelief that this happened in Cuba!!

I called in sick today.......it's my old job for *censored word* pay, not my new, so whatever right.... I needed a mental day. So much has happened. I found out this morning, a friend's parents were beaten to death in a home invasion. Crazy huh.... stuff you dont hear about it Cuba. His mother died, and his father is in the hospital barely alive. This happed 45 min out of Havana in Milana... (not sure spelling of town).

I'm worried if I pay this fee the application will be pulled and delayed. I'd almost prefer the dealys to come when I know there is a visa.... I don't know what to do.

I am very sorry to read about your friend's parents. My heart goes out to you and your friend XO

Double Rainbow, that's great we are close! I have issues though, I have to get the medical repeated for my step daughter, and I need to pay the 490 right of residency fee...

I didn't know I could pay the fee upfront, was misadvised. Should I pay that now, or wait for them request too. Can I pay it there? Hmmm.. I have tons of questions to expidite that now.

Can't believe Step 1 moved so fast! That's great! I guess they have more time on thier hands since they biffed all the Skilled Worker Applications...When I applied was 69 days, and Ottawa did mine.

You are absolutely right : ) None of us have anything to worry about Lets hope it does deter those who are scamming and causing heartbreak and lighter wallets (we can all sympathize with the light wallets thing ) and also deter those Canadians causing backlogs with the fake marriages they are being paid to enter into. Arggghhhh
