Goood morning Havana forum! ;D

Psyched that we'll have our very own spreadsheet now! Sassy is the bestttttt! especially now that there is actually more of us!! Im glad our forum family has grown! I remember talking about this with KJG that we knew so many other people had gone thru the process in cuba but yet there were so few of us here! So happy for shuster having a blast with her man!! and im already on my countdown to dec 21! Yesterday was 7 weeks exactly, and now minus one day! :) Hubby is encouraging me to keep my weekends busy because of the bad mood I was in a few wks ago. went to a nice dinner and tonight have some girls over to teach them how to make a good ol' lasagna! lol Hope all of you have a great, great weekend!! xo

Thanks Sassylassie, spreadsheet is great!!

I called in sick today.......it's my old job for shit pay, not my new, so whatever right.... I needed a mental day. So much has happened. I found out this morning, a friend's parents were beaten to death in a home invasion. Crazy huh.... stuff you dont hear about it Cuba. His mother died, and his father is in the hospital barely alive. This happed 45 min out of Havana in Milana... (not sure spelling of town).

I'm worried if I pay this fee the application will be pulled and delayed. I'd almost prefer the dealys to come when I know there is a visa.... I don't know what to do.

I am keeping busy too...waiting for this PRE is killing me.....so I am doing something I absolutely love to do today.....and no I am not crazy....I am Christmas Decorating....it is absolutely my favourite time of year and I promised my husband when he got here that I would be in full Christmas swing!! So I am decorating so when he gets here mid-November (fingers crossed) it will all be done!!!

I also heard on another thread that I have to pay when they request bc they will give me a slip to pay with so my payment is tracked to the file. Can't I just pay it in Havana? I should investigate this more.

DDG....so very sorry to hear about your friend's parents...that is so horrible. A mental day is obviously needed.

In my opinion...and that is all this is....I would pay it....how are you going to feel if visa is granted and not issued because no payment made and it sits 6 to 8 weeks......it is not a fast process so I would seriously pay it now.......if you send information that is relative to your file or needed and not just an excuse to contact them I cannot see your file being delayed....having said that even if it was it won't be nearly the delay you will experience while your payment is being process.....but again DDG this is my opinion :)

NO this has to be paid through Mississauga......Havana cannot accept these monies.

Ok...when making a payment online, does it come from his name and app number, or mine? I should call CIC Monday.

make the payment under your name and put your client ID number on the form when it prints out and your name and address :)

Happy Friday Ladies...

Just getting online now, worked a long long day. Have 2 more! LOL was reading along the forum to catch up, and when the spreadsheet was thought up, I initially thought, Sassylassie will do it! Then kept reading and sure enough she stepped up!! haha ...

Love the idea... I'll have something to take parliment if I'm waiting to too long ... haha

App Recieved July 24
Sponsor Approval Oct 2

Double Rainbow, that's great we are close! I have issues though, I have to get the medical repeated for my step daughter, and I need to pay the 490 right of residency fee...

I didn't know I could pay the fee upfront, was misadvised. Should I pay that now, or wait for them request too. Can I pay it there? Hmmm.. I have tons of questions to expidite that now.

Can't believe Step 1 moved so fast! That's great! I guess they have more time on thier hands since they biffed all the Skilled Worker Applications...When I applied was 69 days, and Ottawa did mine.

Night all! Have a good weekend! I can not wait for it to be over haha It's all work for me. Time flys by though, almost November !!
Am I an open book :) I do like organizing things...am an office Admin and bookkeeper....so spreadsheets, balancing and budgeting excite me. zzzzz I know did I put you guys to sleep? But really I do have more exciting hobbies ;D

Good morning everyone!
I love KJG's idea of creating a table to track everyone's progress and for comparison purposes. It is a great idea! And thank you sassylassie for volunteering to work on it :)

I haven't applied yet but as soon as I do I will let you know.

Just today I read in the news that there is a new immigration law implemented on Oct 25th of this year. Because of it, people arriving to Canada through this family class sponsorship (spouses) will be granted a temporary residence valid for two years. At the end of the two years, the couple will have to prove that they have maintained a legitimate relationship and then the immigrant will be granted permanent residence.

They say this is to protect Canadians who are being used as a means to immigrate into the country, but I have my doubts that this measure will reduce or prevent fraud.

This new law only affects those who submitted their application on Oct 25th and after.

I always get nervous when I hear or read of new changes but this one does not affect any one of us. But it is good to know about all changes.

I think this is a good change.

Whoo hoo mental health day! We all need one! Who wants to work for Peanuts anyways?!? DDG I am really sorry to hear about your friends parents. That is awful. I honestly do not hear too many crime stories from Cuba. Maybe it is b/c my man is from a small town...when I asked about crime he was like WHAT?!?! lol He was actually shocked by homeless people in Havana. Bless him...I warned him Toronto will be a big change for him.
Anyways, I hope your friends recover from the shock and awful nature of this crime soon. I will keep them in my thoughts today.
