Hey!! My pleasure. I am fairly new as well to this fourm! Where is hubby from and where are you in canada?
He is from Havana and I am living in Toronto. I've been here for the last 8 years, Time flies! :) (except when one is waiting to be reunited) :)

Good afternoon ladies; thank you for the positive thoughts for tomorrow's interview. I'm buying Corona on way home and a friend is coming over tonight to join me. Can't wait for tomorrow to be over. Trust me; once I know something I will be posting. Everyone say a prayer for us

Welcome to the group panorama68 and double rainbow. Great group here with lots of information and support.

Shuster2210; when I went September I used a backpack for carryon and sunwing made me weigh it. It was packed and weighed 5 kg exactly. A person traveling me he had no carryon; just a laptop bag and they made him weigh that; it was over so external harddrive had to be put in luggage. I had called and was told purse or laptop bag free; carryon no more than 5.

Have a great day

Thank you Luvcuba

Good luck for tomorrow's interview!! And positive ways going your way :)

I think that is a great idea...unless they actually send you an email confirming that they have received it. I am just glad shuster2210 that your file is there and that it is a minor glitch....frustrating but easily correctable and you should have the phone call shortly!!! ;)

Hi everyone!
I hope everyone's day was good!

I have several questions that I would like to share with you that hopefully you can answer

1) Today my husband went to get all the documents translated in Havana and they told him that nothing needed to be done to the photocopy of the passport. Doesn't one need to translate it and (because it is a photocopy and not the original) also obtain an affidavit from the translator?

2)Regarding the day that I became a resident...I've called immigration to ask but still have my doubts....should I put the date that I was granted my visa at the Immigration office when my family and I went for our interview, or is it the day when I landed in Canada?

3) My husband did not do the military service but instead he did social service. Do we need to put that under military service??? Or simply answer NONE?

4)And finally ( and what a great thing that I have you), in form IMM5669, we don't have enough space for all the information that we need to provide and I know that I can attach a separate sheet of paper, but I wonder, would it be okay to make a note on the printed copy right next to the table clarifying that the information that is missing on the table is on another page?

I know, I am becoming obsessive about this but I want to avoid delays

I hope that everyone's day today was good. And thank you! :)

I know, I am becoming obsessive about this but I want to avoid delays

I hope that everyone's day today was good. And thank you! :)
Hope that helps you.....are you trying to become an October app???? Any questions we are here!!

1) I can answer some of these, For the passport no translation required as it is both in spanish and in english.
2) Yes you must put the date you arrived in Canada which is the date you become a PR!
4) If you do not have space on the acutal form you must include a separate page right behind actual form and write the number of the question and form number on that blank paper and write the addtional info there.

The only one i cannot help with is number 3!

Ok. So I sent a covering letter, a word document with the full explanation of the dates they were asking for, and I sent the original PDF of the Schedule A.

I sent them to. The "enquiry"-im email listed on the website, and also sent it via the case specific enquiry for on the Cic Havana site.

Received the same generic response from both.

Info added to file. You will not receive a response if....blah blah blah.

Lets hope we hear something from them tomorrow so I don't have to make a trip to the embassy with the documents.
And KJG is right, I'm so happy I received this email today, and not while I was in Havana, no I'm hoping we will get the call next week!!!

wait... so are you going or not now? if doc says its ok then its fine no? you must be super bummed now if you cant go :(
Nope :( a lil annoyed with myself for working myself up to think it was possible. I left in July after our wedding in june with tears in my eyes knowing that it would be Jan before I saw him again. This is the 2nd time I allowed myself to think sooner was ppossible. The first was when I had the doctor convince me that her writing a letter in support of him coming on a

visitors visa for the birth might work (with the lawyer doing the translations supporting her claim). I knew before hand that a visitors visa was near impossible yet I set myself up for mad disappointment. And today the same thing. The doctor said she does not suport the risk I would take of giving birth early while there. Anyways god thing I only shared my plan today with you guys because I can hardly handle my own disappointment let alone my husbands.

So. Checked hubby's email. And there was one from Havana
O
They said they are missing dates on his personal info.

I just checked and the dates/info they were missing were clearly listed as his military service.
So I will email back to them the original, along sign a seperate sheet detailing those dates over to them again
I'm pissed, but at least I know They are workin on the file.
But why the *censored word* can't they read????
Omg I am so frustrated for you! The others are right though at least they are working on the app. But this is several weeks of what ifs and wondering when the interview call will come and its all down to not flipping the page. Arggghh

Take me Sassielassie, I worked in Family Newborn and my husbands aunt is an OBGYN!! We will deliver your baby LOL... all we need is a fake passport to smuggle the baby out of Cuba!! :D
Omg ddg you do not know how tempting your offer is. Paying for your flight would be way cheaper than $15000 if I did give birth early

Btw you have been off the forum for a few days....?.how are you doing?
