Finished packing. I'm never done this early lol
Just have the last minute make up and stuff to do.

Couldn't fit everything I wanted to bring to the inlaws, but sunwing sucks for luggage allowance. I'm so used to flying with air Canada that it was hard to pack with only 30kg....

Now 2 days of work, and then junto a el Amor de mi vida....

haha i agree... Before i met hubby 2 weeks in cuba seemed like an eternity, but after, it goes by in what seems like minutes! I almost get sad to arrive because im already counting down the days that are left. of course its not good, but i cant help it! lol

I am currently working on getting all the documentation ready to sponsor my husband in Cuba. A friend suggested this website and I am really glad to "meet" and be able to interact with others who went or are going through the same nerve-racking process as I am.

I met my husband ten years ago in Cuba. We dated but I left for Spain with my family. It was tough to be apart but we were very young (20 and 23) and we eventually started dating other people. But our email communication never stopped, although it did wane until we decided to meet again this year.

I wonder if anyone else has a similar situation where their relationship was interrupted for years; and whether the sponsorship process has gone smoothly?

Unfortunately I'm not in a similar situation as you, but hopefully someone else will have advice! I would assume though that it would only add credibility to your relationship as the time youve known each other is quite significant! I would just make sure to outline all of this (more detailed of course) in your application and I think it will make complete sense! Good luck with the paperwork! It's a ton of work, but worth it when we'll be with our hubbies one day... Where are you living in Canada? And where is hubby from in Cuba?

I live in Toronto and my husband/hubby lives in Havana. It sure will be worth it, everything that has to be done to be together again. Unfortunate that we all have to go through this difficult time of being apart but having the support of the forum members makes all the difference.

I have a ticket to go see him in December and I can't wait. Love is a wonderful thing!

hey shuster2210.....sungwing...20kg checked...5kg carryon....be careful...I was dinged $120 dollars cause my carryon was 10kg.....12 pounds overweight

Welcome to our thread panarama68.......most of the people of this forum are still waiting to hear from Havana....my husband just recently got his visa on Oct 4/12 and we are currently waiting for the PRE so he can leave Cuba.....

Luvcuba has interview on Oct 25th......shuster2210 should be hearing any day now from Havana....

everyone is a bit different here in their circumstances but the process is pretty much the same for everyone....WAIT!!!!

Double Rainbow....welcome aboard....well on your way in Stage 2.....awesome!!!!! Just a little tidbit....the AOR usually comes after the file is complete..or there has been communication already with Havana.. We got our DND letter on September 17th..but they had already called and booked our interview on August 29th...for Oct 4th so it was anti-climatic!!!!!

I already paid for the elite plus, so I get 30kg luggage and hope to hell they don't weigh my carry on.
But I'll stuff by purse and hope for the best. They are such bastards with the luggage, but at least so far the carry on isn't too too bad.... There are still 2 shopping days left though ;-)
