Hi everyone. I am new to the forum as of today. Submitted Sponsorship App to CPC-M July 05th 2012. CPC-M received my app July 06th 2012. Received Stage 1 AOR approval to sponsor September 17th 2012. App sent to VO in Havana. Med's done in the Spring 2012. Waiting for Stage 2 AOR. Wishing everyone a easy,speedy process to their visas. God Bless.

Unfortunately I'm not in a similar situation as you, but hopefully someone else will have advice! I would assume though that it would only add credibility to your relationship as the time youve known each other is quite significant! I would just make sure to outline all of this (more detailed of course) in your application and I think it will make complete sense! Good luck with the paperwork! It's a ton of work, but worth it when we'll be with our hubbies one day... Where are you living in Canada? And where is hubby from in Cuba?

I live in Toronto and my husband/hubby lives in Havana. It sure will be worth it, everything that has to be done to be together again. Unfortunate that we all have to go through this difficult time of being apart but having the support of the forum members makes all the difference.

I have a ticket to go see him in December and I can't wait. Love is a wonderful thing!

Hello everyone
I am currently working on getting all the documentation ready to sponsor my husband in Cuba. A friend suggested this website and I am really glad to "meet" and be able to interact with others who went or are going through the same nerve-racking process as I am.

I met my husband ten years ago in Cuba. We dated but I left for Spain with my family. It was tough to be apart but we were very young (20 and 23) and we eventually started dating other people. But our email communication never stopped, although it did wane until we decided to meet again this year.

I wonder if anyone else has a similar situation where their relationship was interrupted for years; and whether the sponsorship process has gone smoothly?

i am also sure with your time frame there will be no problems. Do not worry! Just be honest and spill your love all over those papers!

I already paid for the elite plus, so I get 30kg luggage and hope to hell they don't weigh my carry on.
But I'll stuff by purse and hope for the best. They are such *censored word*s with the luggage, but at least so far the carry on isn't too too bad.... There are still 2 shopping days left though ;-)

oh good.......try to be careful with the carryon they have always weighed mine and it is never bulging or looking overweight....they are just weight freaks!!!!

it is the last little bit of shopping that is a killer.....LOL...a little bit of this and that and the next thing you know it is rearranging time!!!

it is going to be a unique experience only packing for me to go to the Dominican....

Honestly when I went to DR I was packed in like 30 mins and my luggage was on 15kg, and I could have brought 30kg cause we were elite plus.
I'm always so nervous checking in but hope all will go well.
I'll stuff bars of soap in my pockets if I have to lol

I know...I weigh and weigh and re-weigh...try to make my carryon look slim and my slouch purse not too full.....then I get in line and wonder why the heck I worry when I see other people but once the bags are weighed and check it is time for a drink cause it is so nerve wracking....LOL

speaking of soap....I had 10 bars in my carryone last time...I had to go over and empty out my whole carryon because the x ray showed an "unusal mass" of big proportion...LOL....I said to the guy it's 10 bars of soap....yes ma'am but I still need to empty everything out......grrrr.....

I am feeling really excited for our group this morning.

Luvcuba...tomorrow is going to be the most exciting day so far for you! Your hubby will have a super positive, easy and quick interview then they will give him his visa in the afternoon

Hmmm...maybe you ladies should invest in a Scottevest essential jacket or trench coat. The pockets would fit lots of soap bars, especially if you get one a size too big Basically the pockets all open inward so there's no bulges (as long as there's space for the pockets to expand inward)
