yes I am going through email withdrawls shuster2210......email place has been closed down since Tuesday for the holiday and not re-opening until Saturday...at least in Matanzas.....
I have been receiving texts...got one on Wed for my b-day and one last night...but again maybe because it is in Matanzas and they have only blocked Havana this time......grrrr....so frustrating that they think they can keep the world from knowing what is going on.....

I've had the same issue these past few days with texting. I've been receiving husband's texts, but he is only receiving mine sporadically. Husband asked someone who works at Cubacel, and he advised that this could be the case through Monday. Esposo mio is in Matanzas too, KJG, so we are waiting for the correo to re-open after the holidays.

And happy belated birthday KJG ;D

well not to get your hopes up but there has been some May 15th approvals in the new delhi thread....so fingers crossed mi amiga.......it would be wonderful to be able to tell you husband that you had at least received an AOR.......and don't forget to be checking in the evening cause alot go out at around 8pm ontario time!!!!! I can guarantee you will have before August 15th!!!! ;D

Fingers crossed! Toes too! Thanks for this, KJG :) It is a bit of a reassurance to know that CIC is at least working on some applications from earlier in May. As more and more June apps received sponsorship approval, I was starting to wonder if early and mid May apps got lost or buried.

There is no rhyme or reason to the order in which CIC processes these things. Definitely not first come first served :(

Yeah, Cuba has def flipped the switch. Like I said, the suspected murder by the Gov of this dissident then the arrests at his funeral have gone somewhat viral, hubby didn't even know what was going on, so a lot of this is the Gov trying to prevent communication outside the island.
Just makes me laugh, I knew that cholera had reached Havana 3 days before he did... He always asks me for my news reports now when we talk so that he knows what going to happen before it does lol.

Did a major house clean yesterday, working all weekend though, just finishing 50 shades of Gray, will def entertain you lol!!!

Hi everyone! I'm also sponsoring my husband from Cuba. We were married in May and the application was sent nearly three weeks ago. Right now I'm back home in Canada and missing him tons!

Welcome picachicha!! Congrats on your marriage. I was in Matanzas in May with my husband!! So you are a july applicant!!! Right now they need to work on the first two weeks of may (the last two are already pretty much done ::) :-\) and the first week of June has been seeing some action so I don't think it will be too long before they hit July!!!

Congrats! May marriage, July application...fast work!!! Like KJG said, things seem to be moving faster for the first stage so here's hoping things go super-fast for you!!

Well the email/computer place in Matanzas is up and running. Was going through email withdrawal the last 3 days!!! LOL!!! Got a text last night as well and my husband has said he has received all of my shustr2210....so hopefully everything is back to normal for you and your husband as well now. Trying to track down some info on the dissident who was killed.

well lambchop...are you ready... :P.....this is your week for an AOR...I can feel it....sending positive thoughts for you...!!!

Thanks, KJG :D Much appreciated. My husband and I are really hoping to have good news from CIC this week. I'll keep you posted.

Meantime, I'm rooting for everyone with files in Havana that the VOs process them lightning fast.

Thanks......really hoping my husband gets an email this week confirming they have our file!!!! Just something....anything!!! LOL..... :P

Thank-you! You've got me all excited now!! :D

I would've sent the application even sooner but we had forgotten the 8 pictures required. He found a way to get it to me and guess what? Wrong size! Finally, a friend of mine was visiting Cuba and was able to bring back the right photos. Needless to say, I've been a little on edge! Hahaha!

Ugh and I totally sympathize with the wanting to know something, anything! You feel so powerless all of a sudden. As if organizing a wedding in Cuba wasn't chaotic and stressful enough (mine was pretty much organized the week before despite being engaged for seven months!). Still, you feel sort of in control of everything and then you fall into the dark void of silence...and wait, and wait, and wait...

You tell yourself you should keep busy with hobbies but all you can do is think about this 24/7, no matter what!
