Hello
I am in PEI and need any help I can get to assist me in getting my documents to marry my Cuban fiancée I have my bith certificate , divorce degree and a single status letter( signed and sealed by a Notary) all have been authenicated by Canadian Foreign Affairs. My understanding from the Cuban Consulate in Montreal is that they will translate for $32 a page and the legalization at $176 so a cost of $1128. Does anyone know if this is correct? Does anyone know the cost of the Notary fees for the marriage in Cuba and are they included in the quote for the marriage on a resort and is it possible to be married by a Notary off the resort?
Waiting for Help ?????
The cost for Cuban Consultat in Montreal is 176$ per document as of January 2013, you'll need:
Birth certificate long form, in french or english + spanish translation
Divorce degree in english or french + spanish translation
Single affidavit in spanish ( no need to have english or french and you'll save 176$)
I had 3 documents because I was never married before ( birth certificate in french + translation in spanish ) that 2 documents
Single affidavit direct in spanish ( 1 document ) so 3 documents total for me for a cost of 528 $
If your divorce degree is in english or french, I understand you'll have 5 documents ( birth certificate in french or english + spanish translation - thats 2 documents),
divorce degree in french or english + spanish translation - thats 2 documents and Single affidavit directly in spanish that 1 document.
5 documents X 176$ = 880 $
The cost of notary for wedding in Moron Cuba was 625 CUC for me in March 2013 + I had to pay 105 CUC for new Stamps on Wedding Certificate. We married outside
the hotel resort because it was less expensive that way for us. The hotel resort will take care of everything ( notary, ceremony, dinner, etc if you ask them but its more expensive)
where in Cuba you'll get married ? I can give you the name of our Notary in Moron if its close to there.
Dont forget exchange rate as you'll have to pay everything in CUC there...its about 0.90 CUC for 1 Canadian $ right now.
When you'll come back, dont forget to bring with you
The Wedding Certificate in spanish, you'll need french or english translation
Birth Certificate of your wife and you'll need french or english translation
Divorce Degree of your wife if ever married - you'll need french or english translation
Medical Report if you want to fill PR application fast
Police Report if you want to fill PR application fast
16 Pictures of her as requested in the guide ( make sure you respect the size)
Official passport photocopy of your wife ( check guide for what you'll need)
Official Identity card photocopy of your wife ( check guide for what you'll need)
All application forms completed and signed where needed f you want to send the application fast after the wedding
I think you have pretty much everything. If you have questions, please ask, I'll help the best I can.
If you need a translator in Montreal, I have one for you as I'M not sure the Cuban Consulate translate documents
anymore... check that
All the best !
