YAY!!!! I can't wait!! ...and only 7 sleeps until I see my family!! ....and we got the liberation, will be ready on Wednesday!! Seems like everything is coming together!!

sorry to intrude on your thread, but I was wondering how long does it take to get a background check done in Cuba for a Cuban living in the US? Also, is there any way to expedite the process?

It's been a while since we did this, but I believe hubby got his in 2 or 3 weeks. I think it really depends on the province it is requested from though. As far as I know there is no known way to expedite the process, although anything is possible in Cuba. I'm sure this would depend on being present in the province to request it. I'm not sure if living out of Cuba (and depending on the way he emigrated to the states) would affect the length of time. Unfortunately no one in the Havana thread right now has spouses living in the states, so it's hard to know!

Verrryyyy quiet around here nowadays! Shuster any official booking or landing yet?? Sassy how's baby doing?? DDG and ppsandy still nothing from Havana? Only 9 days for me before take off!

We have some good news! we were able to get the PVE in advance in the end, so now were ONLY waiting for the Visa!! AHHHHHHHH!! Really hoping there are no problems and we get the visa same day or the following thursday! Both are fine with me!!! If all goes well hubby should be landing with me Jan 3rd!! Wahoooooooooooo

Yayyy finally for you!

Hubby is from Holguin! There was a million ppl there when he went and he lined up at 6am. He explained our situation (that I was coming with my parents and grandma and we are hoping that we will all fly back together. They said it wasnt a problem, but if for whatever reason he doesnt get the visa by feb 11th he has to start over with the pre. Really hoping everything will be simple in that regards, and we have tons and tons of proof about continuing relationship. Been there 3 times since we submitted, and I started out putting our BBM convos on a word document and just 2 days worth is 21 pages!!! the annoying part is when I send it through email, the convo gets put in one lump text so I'm spacing it into texting format so its more clear. 9 days till I leave and 12 for the interview... aaaahhhhh!!!

Quick question for those whose hubbies had a cuban license

So turns out hubby will have only had his license for one year 6 months in january, not 2 years. Does that mean we will have to start at zero here? Meaning permit classes, permit test, driving classes and wait a year, the license test?? Does Cuban license not eliminate any part of that?

Hubby has had his license for 2 year, but his "drivers abstract" will not be ready by the time he comes on Sunday!! (Woo hoo)
I'll let you know when we go to the drivers center what they tell us

Yeah the finalizing of the house details took way longer than we both expected, I've been on pins and needles for a month, told him with all the stress that I'd be bald by the time he gets here haha.

Sassy. I was never able to find a way to extract from the iPhone. What I did was take screen shots of a few back and for texts per week. Saved them as pics and the. Printed 8 per page on an 8x10 paper.
In the contact name I changed it to display his phone number and made sure to capture shots with the date stamp on it.

On my side the news are that I submitted my application two days ago. I mailed it with Canada Post using Express Post. The package was "guaranteed" to arrive today but so far it hasn't. I am very afraid and hopeful that tomorrow it'll finally get there.

Hi Everyone.... I have been so busy getting ready to go!! Monday morning is finally arriving!! It's been 7 months since I seen my better half. I feel nervous to see him it's been so long haha....I always hate the peering in the windows, watching me struggle with mountain of luggage too heavy for a woman...lol it's so welcoming there isn't it... :-[ haha arrriving and going in the country is by far the worst part of this entire process and travels...

I am getting sooooo anxious for the call from Havana. I want sooo much to have it soon, and pray the interview is before I come home Jan 13. I am sooooo tired of this life really... it's so stressful not knowing when things are going to happen. Everyone please pray I get that call and it happens. Prayer in numbers is powerful!!
