Has anyone contacted his MLA for secondary review?

Hi all,
I emailed my MLA about the delay for PR renewal "secondary review". I was wondering if they cant really do anything with CIC? My timeline is

Application received 14 May 2015
email received secondary review 24 Sept 2015


it's been 10 months now and I need to travel out of country within 3 months. I read somewhere in the forum that, if you are under secondary review, we are not allowed to apply for urgent processing.

Most Probably NO, they will give reason for Secondary Review...we are waiting for last 11 months....that's why planning for Secondary Review Petition but not getting enough members to represent...

If your trip is definite within 3 months and tickets are already booked, the only thing you can do other than waiting is to submit your itinerary and payment confirmation to CIC. See details on cic website pr-card/apply-urgent-processing

It may worth a try as it does not cost you anything, but it doesn't guarantee expedition. If you go this route, an acknowledgement from CIC will be received within a week. After that, it's again up to CIC whether your case will be processed urgently or not. In some cases, people do see their card processing speeded up; But in most cases, it falls back to waiting as before.

Your departure date on the ticket should be between 6 weeks and 12 weeks from the day of request. Let us know your progress if the urgent request is submitted.

My tickets are not ready yet, I don't wanna book 8000$ tickets and then CIC says NO we wont' process it. That's why I explained to my MLA that, we are in prison in Canada coz of CIC delaying a complete accurate application with more than 1000 days to renew!!

Thank you buddy for responding to me. Honestly, CIC doesn't care how much you pay for tickets, they simply can come up with any reason to delay you and make you lose your tickets. It's not gonna cost them anything.

Have you contacted your MLA? I emailed him and 2 hours later his office requested an authorization form and my UCI and all family members DOB and UCI. I sent the required form and docs yesterday and now I'll see how it goes.

Same thing happened with us, they will call on your behalf to CIC and when CIC says " Secondary Review ", they will be out of picture....no way...still you can try...All the Best

CIC is playing very UNFAIR game with residents by doing such Harassment and entertaining Refugees.....this shows there immaturity...

I mentioned to them already secondary review. I even sent them the email that CIC informed me about it. Hope they will do something.
