HI jhasan

nice to meet u, man. i was searching all over this forum for somebody who has done ACCA. it's actually very nice to meet u.

i am an affiliate & has completed my exam in December, 2007. i have sent my initial application fo Canadian FSW. i need some assistance if u don't mind.

r u in currently in Canada?

no. i am in lhr- pakistan and have sent my documents last month, my case is under process at chc-isb since 13/06/09. Please go ahead if you want to know anything and if i know that, i will try to explain.

thnx for ur kind reply, jhasan

i wanted to know how many education points we will get for ACCA. I know u r a member but i am an affiliate. after completing the 12th class (which is FSC/ FA/ college in Pakistan) i have done ACCA & then a diploma in IT.....so, i have 17 years full time education, ACCA affiliate certificate, ACCA equivalency certificat stating it is equivalent to a UK Masters degree, ACCA transcript & a Diploma certifcate in IT aftr completing ACCA.

can u give any idea about the education points that i might get.....................

i thiink you should not get less than 25 points esp if you have atleast 1 year of articleship or verifiable experience from ACCA.

thnx for ur kind replyjhasan

i actually didn't understand wht u meant by ''1 year of articleship or verifiable experience from ACCA'' ? i am curently working in a property management firm as accountant

what i meant was that your work experience should be acceptable towards your full membership of ACCA, as that will easily make you qualify under NOC:1111 and will qualify you for max. education points i.e. 25 points.

Where is the equivalency certificate from? Is it from WES? or UK NARIC? I'm not so sure Canada would accept equivalency certs from another country. You might want to check out the FCRO in canada to be certain.

hi jhasan thnx for ur reply

as i mentioned earlier I am not a full member yet. I have passed all my exams & got only 1 year experience & so, i am still an affiliate. so, is that gonna b a problem? I am a bit worried.

Hi guys,

I am ACCA affiliate with almost 3 years of auditing experince from Big4. I have OBU degree as well.

I have read this thread and according to my understanding, If I get equivalence certificate from ACCA, I can claim 25 points for education. Am I correct ?

Does anyone know someone who applied as ACCA and got the visa ?

Looking forward to your replies.

I think ACCA nad CGA (Certified General Accountant-a canadian degree) has an exchange agreement. It helps to easily qualify for canadian job.

did they consider your ACCA equivalent to masters ?

No they dont. They consider ACCA as a bachelor degree.
