I think it is because you are traveling. As that was one of the questions they ask before scheduling.

Buddy , they cannot know if they are travelling or not. So this cancellations haven't stopped yet and because of the third wave and local restrictions coming back slowly they are not yet prepared to open the consulates i believe. Even in India, due to rise in Covid cases again, cancellations have been happening in Mumbai and Delhi consulates.
this is a question where we provide personal details before scheduling. "Are you traveling for the..." something like that.
That is right but they cannot know if you are already inside Canada or yet to travel.
I received email as well for cancellation but the Online account still says Attend Appointment - Is this normal?
I still see my appointment online but they usually send an email saying appointment will be cancelled and then one saying it has been cancelled. I'm pretty sure it is as good as cancelled now.
