Most aren’t blaming the immigrants they are primarily blaming the immigration policies and the various levels of government who looked the other way when there were obvious issues. Except for a very small number of people Canadians still support immigration but at levels that make sense, that doesn’t incentivize filing applications with no grounds, that removes people when they have no status or commit serious crimes and that do benefit the economy, do make life better for anyone living in Canada, etc. Bad immigration policies and poor planning, provinces licensing & essentially ignoring the degree mills & fraud, many municipalities ignoring unsafe and illegal rental housing, etc. all occurred so there is plenty of blame to go around. There are also many who arrived in Canada and did not follow the terms of their stays, committed fraud, didn’t have genuine intentions, etc. We are talking about millions of non-PRs and citizens in Canada not just H&C applicants. Yes that caused additional infrastructure strain, has had both positive and negative economic impacts, has lead to an increase in crime, etc. There is some nuance to this situation also depending on the actual immigrant. There are many who have benefited financially from the poor immigration policies and many were also made false promises from people inside and outside Canada. The big issue is that this new government is left to try to fix a big mess at an already very challenging time for Canada. There are going to have to be tough decisions by the government on various issues including immigration. The support for Carney remains high so the other parties have minimal incentive to trigger another election and they also would risk handing Carney a majority. The parties are also aware that voters want politicians to try to address problems facing Canada not trigger another election. Very unrealistic to think that we will have an election in a year. The NDP alone could prop up the government because they aren’t in a financial position to run another campaign and will worry about losing more seats.

Not quite, but IRCC will have the authority to cancel applications in the inventory. However, mass cancellations would be different from those done in the past, since the majority of applicants are already living in Canada on temporary permits. This makes it much more challenging to carry out such cancellations.

Renowned Immigration lawyer Steven Meurrens has warned that the federal government appears to be setting the stage for mass cancellations through Bill C-12.
Once you have OWP, which you can apply for after AIP, you will be eligible temporary resident.
The current immigration crisis would not be fixed unless 2.5 million temporary residents (particularly working class immigrants) in Canada are transitioned to PR. The new proposed bill C12 … would only make the problem worse, because it will just transfer huge backlog from IRCC to PRRA and judicial system.

I still haven't received my CSQ package to star my CSQ application. Is this normal ?? Who should i call to know what is happening
Have you seen anything similar in any other circumstances?
How long does Wil take for the CSQ?
Estimated time left ; 36 months left , so need to Waite another 36 months for final decision, or it calculates for AIP ???
Is changing the province is good option for me? Or will my file be thrown in with the 50,000 others who are waiting?
Any suggestion or opinion from guys will be greatly appreciated.

Because at the time... July 24..he said I would have pretty much the same process time for OWP and second stage, and he said I could save $ by not applying and I chose not to. Everything change since that.
The only reason I would apply now is to be eligible for CCB. I have no status and I'm not sure I would qualify for CCB once I receive the OWP.
Do not be so excited because claims already referred to IRB are not affected by bill C12. Also, cancelling H and C applications which involve best interest of canadian child is not legally feasible. Furthermore, even if Bill C12 passes, it would likely be struck down by the courts since it introduces arbitrary 1 year limit for asylum claims of people arriving in Canada after 2020, which courts will most probably find as unconstitutional.

I see nothing thing wrong with the 1yr rule if passed. The asylum system is already a mess. Something needs to be done.

If you think Bill C12 provides solution, here is the answer from Canadian Immigration lawyers Association.
Not sure I'd put a lot of faith in a group of lawyers who make their living off the problem. While I don't doubt there would be legal challenges to any action the government may take, the SCC has repeatedly refused to admonish changes to the law made by government. The court does not make laws, only enforces them. While highly unlikely to occur, the government could simply withdraw from sections of or the entire UN Charter, and effectively curtail any legal challenges. It's not like the UN has any actual power to enforce the charter, other than appearance. I doubt that would ever happen, but it's already been made clear by the SCC the the Charter of Rights can be suspended temporarily (see non withstand clause). That, I can see happening.
You might qualify for CCB. Depends if you have reached the 18 months of being resident by that point.
