In GCMS (Global Case Management System) notes, “HIRV” stands for “High-Impact Risk Visitor.” This term is used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to identify individuals who may pose a significant risk if allowed entry into Canada. The designation can be based on various factors such as:
Security Concerns: Involvement in activities related to terrorism, espionage, or organized crime.
Criminal History: Past criminal convictions that raise concerns about the individual’s behavior and potential impact on public safety.
Other Risks: Any other factors that might threaten Canada’s national security or public interest.
Implications of HIRV Designation:
Enhanced Scrutiny: Applications flagged with HIRV are subject to more detailed examination, including additional background checks .
Processing Delays: Due to the need for thorough assessment, applications may experience delays in processing.
Risk of Denial: If the risks associated with the HIRV designation cannot be adequately addressed, it could lead to the denial of the application.
Ohh I see, thank you @sting , it's just under Background, so far nothing has changed for me, background still in process.

Is it possible you cannot get your pr after AIP? If so, what would be a reason for it?

Yes, it's possible. Examples of reasons could be things like not passing security or background check.

Himm, so they don’t do security or background checks before AIP?

It's eligibility to the best of my knowledge. AIP generally means someone is going to be approved but refusal is still possible, although rare.

Hello
I want to apply Travel document with AIP
I heard you can apply travel document with AIP.

Can you give a link for that? To the best of my knowledge the RTD is only available to refugee claimants who have been accepted as a protected person. I'm not aware of a travel document that is available with H&C AIP.

Thank you
@canuck78
I am not going to travel right now
Since the processing time of the travel document will take longer i want to apply it rignt now and travel when i receive my PR.

Once you are a PR, you will use your PR card in combination with your home county passport to travel.

The PRTD (PR Travel Document) is not a substitute for a passport. It's a substitute for a PR card if yours gets lost or is expired. You will still need to be holding a valid passport to travel after you become a PR through H&C

There are 2 types of travel documents for non-Canadians:

refugee travel document
We issue these to protected persons in Canada, including Convention refugees and persons in need of protection.
certificate of identity
We issue these to permanent residents of Canada who either
are not protected persons and are stateless or
can’t obtain a passport from their country or a travel document from any other source
