Got mail from CHC regarding Visa Approval : 22nd June 2013

How can we confirm a room or house sitting here in India ?? will the owner ask for some advance confirmation deposit ??

Should one simply trust these websites and landlords and pay the deposits or there is any other way ???

To be true, I don't have any experience in that. Yes, it is insecure to transfer money for advance booking unless we sign a lease.

What you can do is, shortlist these accommodation, make a list. Reach there, stay in hotel/uni accommodation/friend/relative for 4-5 days. By that time visit and these homes and then confirm.

Hi VSK,

No GRE required ...

I had 3 recommendations actually > 1 Academic from Department HOD and 2 professional (1 from reporting manager and 1 from GM)

Are you applying to UOttawa ? for which session ??

Never never ever pay anyone rent while you are still in India, i would suggest to stay in a hotel when you get here for the first 2-3days, and then start looking or start meeting the to be landlord
