Is grocery cheaper in gatineau or in ottawa?

Thanks

In shops like Walmart, Safeway, Safe on Foods, etc etc it is all the same. Groceries are expensive, does not matter where you live.

It's not the same. I often find shops such as Hmart and No frills cheaper price than its competitors such as Urban Fare and T&T.

You will need to check the daily flyers to see the differences.

Well, I have never been to these places..Still, groceries in Canada are more expensive than in Europe.

find if you can qualify for one of those non-profit grocery stores. I know about 4 in Metro Vancouver (Quest). They issue you a card if referred to by an organization/referral agency. Your local library may have information about low cost grocery options.

Thanks a lot, but will most probably not qualify due to my income..

To compare prices :

Nofrills.ca - find a store - Ottawa

Maxi.ca - find a store - Gatineau

(Note that Maxi & No Frills are the same store, just different name because ... Quebec).

You could do the same using Loblaw, IGA, Walmart, etc, etc...
