Grandparents Super Visa Extension

Hello!
Has anyone applied for an extension of Super Visa for their parents while they are in Canada ?

I applied for their extension sometime in the end of March 2021 by paper application (not online). Not sure what the timeline is.

Their stay expires in July whilst the Visa is valid until 2029.

Any help with timelines or response procedure from CIC from past applicants will be greatly appreciated.

You really should have applied right before the expiry date in July. Processing times are 5-7 months so they'll be on implied status until then. They need to take out insurance even if they are on implied status. They may be asked to do another medical. Didn't think there was a paper option these days.

I'm currently applying to extend my parents stay. They are on supervisa, they arrived in Canada on August 2019. Can you please tell me what reason you stated on the letter to extend their stay? In my case I am worried about COVID infection on the long flight and I also want to spend more time with them. Also, did you mention your income/savings in the letter?

Hi - I submitted the extension application on paper and not online. The Document checklist contained in the package for the offline application has no requirements for a ‘letter’ and i did not submit one (a letter was already submitted when the Super Visa application was made).

I did submit income proof via Bank Statements (last 3 months) certified by the Bank and a letter from the Employer.

Thank you for your response. For the form 5708 what did you put for the question "My expenses in Canada will be paid by" the options are "myself" "parent" or "other"

Should I select "myself" or should I select "other" and say "my son" since its a supervisa.

Also, for "indicate how long you plan to stay" I want a one year extension so what will I put for the To and From dates?

You need to select other and specify (ex: Son)
